5.0 out of 5 stars Pop by name, not by content!, 10 Feb 2009
This review is from: Pop (Audio CD)
Excellent album by U2 and easily one of their best! It's called Pop and many think it's all dance music. As a 19 year old rock music fan who despises pop and dance music I can easily say the whole album is 100% rock and roll.... well maybe 90%! Mofo and Miami are the only real "techno" songs here, but they're even good songs too. Apart from that it's business as usual!

Why nobody bought it is a mystery. Please buy it and get it's sales past double figures!

5.0 out of 5 stars Still awesome!, 27 Jan 2009
Albums like this can only do Duran Duran justice, because it's their best album in my opinion!

Obviously they listened to music that was popular at the time (Alternative Rock, Grunge etc) and thought they would give it a go. The result was brilliant. Best tracks are Too Much Information (one of the best DD songs ever recorded), Ordinary World, Shelter and Sin of The City. The rest of the songs are good too mut there's too many of them to list. The only bad song is Drowning Man, which sounds club-ish for my liking. Apart from that it's a brilliant album, and certainly one of the best rock albums of the 90's.

5.0 out of 5 stars GTA, you've had your day!, 26 Jan 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Saints Row 2 (PS3) (Video Game)
I never thought I'd play a game that beat's Grand Theft Auto in its own game, then I played Saints Row 2. Basically everything in SR2 is done better than GTA4, save for the graphics and other minor details, as well as the brand name. But the main thing about this game is the fun factor. It's alot more fun to play than GTA4, it doesn't drag on and you can customize your character and make them your own, and SR2 has more activities that make it more value for money.

I'm not saying that GTA4 is rubbish, it's brilliant. It's just that GTA running out of ideas and Rocktar REALLY need to think of new one's before the next one, otherwise it's going to be buried by the competition.

4.0 out of 5 stars not their best...but still very good!, 13 Jan 2009
This review is from: The Spaghetti Incident? (Audio CD)
Basically this covers album was released to keep the GNR name fresh until they released a follow-up to Use Your Illusion 1 and 2 (which would untimatly be Chinese Democracy). What GNR did was take some classic punk/glam songs, and record them how THEY would have done them. The result is a very good collection of covers, save a few. Essential for the hardcore GNR fan

4.0 out of 5 stars One of many great rock albums of 2008, 13 Jan 2009
This review is from: Dark Horse (Audio CD)
2008 was a great year for rock music. It saw the return of Guns N' Roses and AC/DC, Bullet For My Valentine's album Scream Aim Fire and the re-release of Nickelback's 2005 album All The Right Reasons. Now I know why they re -released a 3 year aold album. It was to build up hype for Dark Horse. And the result of this was...spectacular. Easliy one of the best albums of 2008, despite being critically panned by critics (who let's be honest, know nothing about music)

Standout tracks are:
Something in Your Mouth
Burn It To The Ground
Gotta be Somebody
Just To Get High
S.E.X many more

3.0 out of 5 stars OK-ish, 11 Jan 2009
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Sure it's what we always wanted. A full blown MGS on PSP. But then again this game shows why we wouldnt want one either. The controls and camera are really poor. The 3D camera would have been brilliant if the PSP had a second analogue stick, but instad you have to control it with the direction buttons, located on the same side as the analogue stick, and this was really annoying when you are trying to run and shoot and control the camera. You had to do one or the other.

I was very dissapointed in this game indeed, and I'm a huge fan of the series. But every great series has to have duff game, and this sadly is Metal Gear's weakest game. The Metal Gear Ac!d series was well suited to a handheld console, and to me they are way better than this game.

Knocking on Heavens Door and Civil War didn't have video's, which is a shame and You Could Be Mine couldn't be included due to copyright reasons. Apart from that however, it's a very worthwile collection indeed. The criminally underrated Estranged video is the best video here. Even the video's for the non singles are great, such as Dead Horse and Garden Of Eden, even the video for Since I Don't Have You is very good (features Gary Oldman). Awesome collection on one DVD!

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the most original, and brilliant games ever, 7 Jan 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Mirror's Edge (PS3) (Video Game)
Mirrors Edge is perfect really. Edge-of-your-seat gameplay with some of the best graphics a game has ever had, and a killer futuristic storyline similar to science fiction movies such as Ultraviolet and Equilibrium. No doubt that if Mirrors Edge was a movie (which will most certainly happen, due to the trend of turning games into movies) lead character Faith would be played my Milla Jovovich. And that's not a bad thing.

Buy it. You will not be disapointed! And it's on the cheap too!

5.0 out of 5 stars No question about it!, 5 Jan 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This is one of the most epic games ever made. It's difficult to explain in writing because you really have to play it to see for yourself. This is the REAL Game of the Year 2008. GTA4 was way over rated in my opinion (still a fantastic game though), and games like Halo or Gears of War will never be masterpieces like this. I know what they're like, I've played them. MGS4 allows you to lose yourself in another person's world. Play it and you will know what I'm talking about.

4.0 out of 5 stars I gave this 1*...and I was wrong!, 21 Nov 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
I blasted this game when it first came out, giving it a 1 * review. However I've grown to like it and I'm finding it very enjoyable, hence the new review. The only bad points are the fact that you have a big city to drive in, but no excuse to explore it. The city has very little traffic as well, + the framerate gets a little jumpy (something that should not be seen in a PS3 game!) but you can live with all that. I honestly do not see what all the fuss is about, I've played games a lot worse than this quite frankly.

The graphics are very nice indeed, nice and shiny, especially on a HD tv. The car handling is nice (way better than Pro Street's), and online is always a challenge.

So in all a great game, not the best I'll admit but if you can find it cheap you'll be in for a nice suprise!
