5.0 out of 5 stars read, read and read again, 17 Aug 2008
I quote Stephen Covey in my work all the time, he is insightful, compassionate writer and truly believes in personal development. All of his work is enlightening and The Seven Habits is a book you will refer to and re read constantly because of the value within it.

5.0 out of 5 stars You will know a HSP, 17 Aug 2008
This book is a great read, if you are not a HSP you will know someone who is, the book will give you a far greater understanding of their needs and if you are a HSP, they can transform you life by giving understanding to how you feel on a daily basis. If only I had found these 20 years ago! I share this book with many of my clients who are HSPs and they too find it enormously valuable.

According to Aaron, highly sensitive people, or HSPs, typically share a number of characteristics: They're highly aroused by new or prolonged stimulation; strongly reactive to external stimuli such as noise and light; intolerant of pain, hunger, thirst, caffeine, and medication; susceptible to stress-related and psychosomatic illnesses; and deeply affected by other people's moods and emotions. They are also highly intuitive; able to concentrate deeply (but do best without distractions); right-brained, and less linear than non-HSPs; highly conscientious; especially good at tasks requiring vigilance, accuracy, and speed; and excellent at spotting and avoiding errors.

4.0 out of 5 stars a much needed resources, 17 Aug 2008
This review is from: Show Me the Money (Hardcover)
All Alvin books are packed with information and support for all types of situations. We live in a materialistic world, with credit almost continuously on offer. It is hard to not weaken and give in and many people already have significant financial issues. Whether you have debt problems, want to know about saving, pensions, or stocks and shares check out Alvin Halls other books. I recommend his books to my clients all the time and I know they also find them valuable.

The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference
The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference
by Malcolm Gladwell
Edition: Audio CD
Price: £15.77

4.0 out of 5 stars human behaviour, 17 Aug 2008
The book is well researched with an excellent reference section, and has some great insights into human behaviour and communication on both an individual and social level.Malcolm Gladwell tells us that when something major happens it's usually because its been building for a while and that it just needs the addition of a magic 'something' to shift the balance in order for the phenomena to take place. It contains some excellent examples of this `tipping point' being reached, such as the huge drop in serious crimes in New York in the mid 1990s.

A must read for anyone who is suffering with the loss of a loved one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Time to read and consider, 3 Jun 2008
A great book for reflective, thinking people who are open to considering all avenues of development and a no go area for non reflective people who think they know it all or those who just want to read and run, rather than contemplate and consider.

I did not start out reading it with any preconceptions as I had no understanding of what the contents were going to be. I am an avid reader of Ester and Jerry Hicks, Stephen Covey, Wayne Dyer, Napoleon Hill etc so in some ways it is no surprise that I like the contents of this book as it is a great review of some great motivational and inspirational people and studies. However I like the philosophy and great use of reflections and studies from other authors. I really like the quotes; I felt they were wonderfully pertinent which really aids the reader in understanding the concepts being discussed.

I was very interested in the section on creativity and the ideas raised here that are not common place in the workplace.

The book is worth buying for the book list alone, as already stated, a good review of some great authors under fearlessness, optimism, creativity, uniqueness and storytelling, along with some great web sites too.

On a personal note I don't like books crammed with words on a small font with no space anywhere. This book is well set out with plenty of space which really aids in reading (and note making in your own book!)

I think the book is a refreshing looking a self development without it being in management speak, with great review of literature and has the potential for the public sector to take this positive and inspirational message on board......and consider............maybe!
