A charming well illustrated account of a little known artist. The search and descriptions of the people met on the way is fascinating
Norfolk life is vividly presented.

A tremendous read. I could not put it down and it much improved a long bus ride followed by an airport wait and a flight to a German market this December. It gives a vivid picture of life in past Amsterdam in all its glory and brutality.

4.0 out of 5 stars Compulsive Thriller, 27 Dec. 2014

The best thing about Ann Cleeves' crime fiction is that the reader becomes involved with the people as well as the plot. This one about a group holiday on Shetland which goes wrong is a compulsive read

An unassuming but but compulsive read. The writing is excellent and it should speak to all family members particularly grandmothers. Highly recommended

1.0 out of 5 stars Amplicall 16 - URGENT COMPLAINT !!!, 17 Mar. 2014
The instruction manual is written in very poor, almost incomprehensible, English.

But the main problem is that the device simply does not work reliably. On about 1 day in 3, it works, but more often, the device fails to make any noise. The red light comes on and the flashing white light also works when the bell-push is pressed. The batteries are fine.

PLEASE ARRANGE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating Indian setting, 9 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)

I really enjoyed this. It gave a ascinating, not always favourable picture of Indian middle class life and its effect on women. I was hooked on Uma's story and rather sad when it ended with her brother's life in thr USA though that was compelling too
