5.0 out of 5 stars HIGH GRADE STONER ROCK!!!!, 6 April 2008
This review is from: Let It Burn (Audio CD)
This is one monolith record, anyone who follows the so called "stoner rock" movement or listens to bands like KYUSS, FU MANCHU OR MONSTER MAGNET then you'll love NEBULA.
Rising from the ashes of there former band FU MANCHU, NEBULA pick up where they left off with there former band and take it into a more "psychedelic" "cosmic" direction,
the band manage to mix BLACK SABBATH riffs and STOOGES esq vocals with HENDRIX style blues and HAWKWIND space rock.
the opening track "elevation" does just that with cosmic flushes before slammin in with a heavy-fuzzed out riff,
"down the highway" is defo a full on rock n' roll blast (great for crusing to)the title track rides a riff ladden psychedelic storm, "vulcan bomber" and "dragoneye" carry on in the same fasion.
the most interesting track on the album is the instramental "raga in the bloodshot pyramid" which is aided by a sitar, it has even been said that its the best raga music played by white people!!!
"Sonic titan" is probabaly the heaviest song with a riff that DEEP PURPLE could have quite easaly wrote, the song finishes in a cosmic doomy BLACK SABBATH trance.
The last song "devils liquid" is is garage rock all the way.
This is a great record a must have for all "stoner rock/classic rock" fans, (it was nebula's 1st as well) so its a great debut from a great band.

5.0 out of 5 stars HEAVY DRUG ROCK MAAAAAAANNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!, 23 Mar. 2008
This review is from: Spine Of God (Audio CD)
Dave wyndorf is a fookin genius i love the way he fools everyone buy thinkin' he's a satanic drug lord when in fact he's the oposite.
Spine of god manages to poke fun out of the audience its selling it music streight to by singing bout rock n' roll cliches such as devil worship, drugs, girls in a tounge and cheek fuzzed out psychedelic space rock onslaught.
Monster magnet were the first "STONER ROCK" band, before kyuss before fu manchu before sleep
and this record is there best
it will not dissapoint all you psych heads out there
i would go through it song buy song but id only dissapoint it for you!

SO GO OUT AND BY THIS MASTER OF ALL RECORDS
BEFORE YOU GET WITHERD AND OLD LIKE POOR AGNESS!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars KYUSS ENTER ORBIT!!!!, 23 Mar. 2008
This review is from: Welcome To Sky Valley (Audio CD)
This album and blues for the red sun changed the way i thought about heavy music, when i first heard the chorus to gardenia (hear that puring motor and she's burning fuel/ push it over baby makin' love to you)it was a total revalation, hearin the line "makin love" in a heavy rock song in the 90s was totally weird because heavy music at that time i.e. metallica, alice in chains, nirvana and the whole grunge thing, it was very down beat and depressing and whiny when as this wernt, it was positive and most of all......BLOODY HEAVY!!!!!
Every song on this album is classic, homme's song wrighting peaked on this album (especially with kyuss anyway)The guitars are fuzzy the vocals are raspy and raw the bass is more boucy than a fat kid stuffed with chocolate and the drums are organic and very bold.
Kyuss are now described as the pioneers of "STONER ROCK" along with MONSTER MAGNET, FU MANCHU AND SLEEP.
Although kyuss obviously took alot from 70s rock like black sabbath, blue cheer and the like
they still manage to sound uniqe unlike alot of the bands from this genre of music who just tend to rehash alot of 70s music.
Sky valley will not disapoint you what so ever it has that 70s rock spirit
just updated for the 90s, i could go on song buy song but i woulden't wanna spoil it for ya!
Kyuss were defenatly the black sabbath of the 90s not just cause of there sound but because of there inovative spirit and influence
THIS IS WHERE KYUSS ENTERD ORBIT!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars HEAVY FUZZ N' ROLL, 23 Mar. 2008
This review is from: In Search of... (Audio CD)
This was the last fu manchu album with the "classic" line up of: scott hill: guitar/vocals, brad davis: bass, rubun romano: drums and eddie glass: guitars, (the latter two went on to form the bad ass nebula!)and in my opinion fu manchu's best effort.Thee album it self is a tour de force in heavy-fuzzed out-spacey-retro metal, from the rockin regal begal to the sabbath esq supershooter. The band would never reach this high point again but would come close with "the action is go" the thing with fu manchu is that after a while things start getting a little samey, (which is cool if your into that)and they enjoy being streight ahead rock n'roll which is the reason why rubun and eddie left, but this album really dilivers the goods and there streight up approach really works on this record.I oun all the fu manchu records and this one is my fave no dout and would go well alongside kyuss' sky valley or monster magnets superjudge.

SO WHAT YOU WAITING FOR GO AND BY THIS AWESOME FUZZ N' ROLL RECORD.
