5.0 out of 5 stars A must read., 26 Mar 2014

As someone who works in development (PhD) I have had concerns over the MVP and Sachs general attitude to the complexities of development since before the publication of "The End of Poverty" (2005). His astounding lack of interest in the voices of the people and his complete inability to grasp complexities within development (to ensure the best outcomes for people actually living In poverty) had been disturbing. Especially, since, as mentioned within this book, academics like Robert Chambers have been writing about the need for community involvement, perhaps especially, within rural development initiatives since the early 80s. The fact that Sachs has been fêted and fawned upon by celebrities and people hoping for easy answers and quick fixes the last 10 years has meant that real debate and dialogue have been pushed aside and made invisible. Nina Munk has done a great service with her book in highlighting to people not within development that superficial bandaid solutions are not worthy of anyone, let alone those people who need help the most.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of money, 20 July 2013

These stamps were a complete waste of money. First, the colours listed are not what you receive; instead of a yellow stamp I received brown and instead of purple I received dark burgundy. Seondly, although the stamps are very small, there is a covering sticker around the edge of all of the stamps, closing the stamp pad from the stamp, which is almost impossible to get off as it's stuck tight. When/if you do, it leaves a sticky grimy mess. To remove this would mean washing with water and washing up soap...but of course that would ruin the stamp pad. All in all - a waste of time and money. Shame, as I was planning to buy quite a few more, but definitely won't be now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great magnetic princess set, 23 Nov 2012

I bought this for my 4 year old daughter, but even our 6 year old son likes playing with it. The colours are bright and colourful and the magnets are great - they properly stick, not like most magnetic sets where they just slide off. Also, it's a thin metal tin - but the image is repeated on both sides of the tin - on the lid and on the bottom, so two kids can play with it at once. I recommend this product without hesitation.
