For the price this is a must have. A couple of the films are classics, the rest are still worth
at least one watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Crime shows, 19 July 2014
If you love American crime dramas of the 80's/90's then this has to be the bargain of the century!
This box set consists of several complete series and then representative episodes from others.
My favourite is 'Missing Persons' but they are all well worth a watch.
Grab it before it goes out of print! One word of warning though, it is region 1 so make sure your player
supports it.

Just got this (along with issue 5) through the post. Wow! It's the size of a telephone directory!!
(Thompsons local not BT of course). But really, the amount of work and dedication that must
have been put into this doesn't bare thinking about.
If your taste in cinema goes beyond the'A' list Hollywood films into the more obscure, then this
is the magazine (sorry, that's an insult - Book) for you.
Even if you only ever watch the latest blockbusters, get it anyway. It may just turn you to the
'Dark Side'!
Just one word of warning, it does contain 'Adult content' if that may cause offence to you.
Weng's the next issue out? (sorry!)

There's not a lot that needs to be said. The lamp looks pretty stylish
for the price and is great value for money. Some reviewers have commented
on the sensitivity of the operation, I find it works fine if you use your
whole hand instead of trying to use one finger.
Highly recommended.

I really can't understand why this game has been getting so many bad reviews.
The controls work pretty much perfectly as far as I can see and, in fact, I seem to be able to stand a bit closer to the sensor with this game than with many others. The game plays very well and is a great recreation of real bowling, probably as good as you could expect it to be.
So why only 4 stars? Because of the same reasons other reviewers have complained.
The players character obscures your view when bowling and you have to manually skip the npc's turn at every frame if you don't want to watch it.
Neither of these is a 'deal breaker' if you looking for the best (so far) bowling game for Xbox.

5.0 out of 5 stars Genius, 27 Aug. 2012

One of those rare games that takes less than a minute to learn the rules but can be played for a lifetime. Pretty much a thinking man's noughts & crosses, the idea is to get five marbles in a row on an ever changing gameboard. The game requires forward planning and keen observation very much like chess (though not as complicated as that game of course) and like chess has a timeless quality that could see you playing this in 20 years time and still getting as much pleasure from it.
Pure genius.

5.0 out of 5 stars TV-Noir, 17 Oct. 2007

Have just received this great box set and even though I've only seen one episode so far I can see it's a cracker! Once again. it seems we British have come off better than our American cousins with this release as the American set splits the 1st season into two (fairly expensive) sets Here we get the full 1st season and, judging from the reviews on Amazon.com, the American version is of poor visual quality. Here we have nicely restored discs with crisp b&w photography and the visuals are truely classy.
This is best described as a film-noir tv series and features great moody lighting and some brilliant camera angles. The stories themselves, being only around 25mins in length, may suffer slightly but this doesn't detract from the sheer enjoyment you'll have from this ultra cool series. One thing that did suprise me was the violence in the show. Although nearly all of it is implied or off screen there were several cold-blooded killings in just the first episode!
Still, please don't let this put you off if you love cool 50's/60's shows as this is probably one of the best. And who hasn't heard that great theme music?
Buy this, fix yourself a martini, and lose yourself in some superb nostalia.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another super-cool 60's show, 7 Oct. 2007

A great companion to 'Honey West', this is another classic 60's show and amazing value for money. Featuring Amos Burke as a millionaire detective investigating quirky crimes as you only see in shows of the 60's (think 'The Avengers' as the nearest comparison) this has a great atmosphere and is a change from the rather too gritty detective shows of today.
Picture quality on the set is fine and the black & white photography looks amazing. As with Honey West (highly recommended) if you time it right this dvd set can be had for a bargain price on Amazon.

3.0 out of 5 stars Above average, 19 Sept. 2007

One reviewer states that this dvd set is always out of stock at Amazon but I had no problem receiving mine. The price fluctuates a bit but seems to be around the £8 - 9 mark at the moment and at that price this is a major bargain.
The show itself follows the same formula as many of the current American tv shows such as Medium etc in that it deals with the supernatutal. The main character, Tru, is able to receive messages from murder victims and then relives the moments leading to the killing in order to solve the crime.
I don't think 'Tru Calling' can be classed as a classic tv show but is highly entertaining and well produced and when you bear in mind that this set is the complete series (series 1 & 2) then you really can't go wrong for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars You must see this, 12 Sept. 2007
Can a tv series ever be classed as art? If so, then this show is it. The sheer genius of the writing will leave you breathless and with such a talented cast doing justice to the writers (and believe me,these actors are, every one of them, perfect in their roles) we have one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. In some ways it was perhaps too good in that it demands full attention at all times to appreciate the staggering inventivness of the scripts but with the dvd's we can make the time. Buy a multi-region dvd player if you have to but buy this set.
One more thing - has Jewel Staite got a thing about doomed classic tv shows?
