I HAD always been a "Bad sleeper" until I noticed this on the library just before New Year and havent looked back

I have enjoyed within the last three weeks the best nights sleep I have ever had

With advice from the downright pragmatic to basic NLP techniques if you follow his advice in the full you WILL sleep better

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet another life manual from the master of self improvment, 17 Jan. 2010
Brian Tracys books have changed the lives of a lot of people mine included

This book is no exception

Very detailed its probably best read chapter at a time then a day or two "assimilation" period to let the wealth of information and advice really sink in and of course it requires several readings

Anyone who is unfamiliar with Brian Tracy should know that he considers goal setting and execution THE most important skill in life for attaining success and the chapter devoted to that skill alone is worth the meagre price

He also goes into positive thinking self affirmations taking responsiblity for onesself and ones situation amongst many other useful literally life changing skill developments

Whils the cover is a bit dated now I can assure you the advice is not!

Advanced Selling Strategies: The Proven System of Sales Ideas, Methods and Techniques Used by Top Salespeople Everywhere
Advanced Selling Strategies: The Proven System of Sales Ideas, Methods and Techniques Used by Top Salespeople Everywhere
by Brian Tracy
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Another winner from Tracy, 17 Jan. 2010
I am slightly amiss at why some reviewers consider this a "beginners" book for sales if your after that look no further than either "sales on a beermat" or
"chill out guide for succesful selling"

If however your after a guide that will take to the very top of sales in your particular field then look no further than this

Its a veritable manaul of sales excellence both technique wise and psychologically which is a huge yet generally overlooked aspect of sales skill

Be patient however you need to invest time in this book and it would require at least three reads to get the most out of it

What Every BODY is Saying: An Ex-FBI Agent's Guide to Speed-Reading People

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good, 15 Jan. 2010
This is a comprehensive book about body language that goes into more depth than the Pease book
It is more advanced and is definatley more geared towards the "deception detection" side of things which lets be honest is why most people begin studying the subject aside from courtship reasons

Easy to read and even easier to apply I was observing the points Joe talked about within minutes of reading it

If you are new or well versed in non verbals it makes a very good addition to your collection!

2.0 out of 5 stars Very basic make the author richer type book, 9 Jan. 2010
I am at a loss as to all the 5 star reviews for this book.

The authour is a serial entrepreneur and for that he has my respect but this is quite clearly a very basic assembelisation of basic business facets packaged as some kind of propetic piece of literary gold. A fact which you would readily belive if you belive most of the reviews here.

Going back to my point above I strongly suspect the author has had some kind of interest in the 5 star reviews here by the way wether by himself of associates this book is simply average at best as business books go.

4.0 out of 5 stars Old school sales closing!, 9 Jan. 2010
Like sitting an elderley couple down until 1AM and "coercing" them into buying a £10K conservatory Tom Hopkins is of the old school of selling!

Dont take this as a bad point some of his techniques border on manipulative (as indeed do a lot of the great sales books) but they are extremely effective especially if you take the time to listen to some of his Audio.

Top Man: How Philip Green Built His High Street Empire
Top Man: How Philip Green Built His High Street Empire

4.0 out of 5 stars Underrated, 9 Jan. 2010
An underrated little book that for me was unputdownable!

The starkest insight this book offers is not IMO the ruthless ambition or aggression that Phillip Green so obviously possesses rather the fact that he didnt really find his feet business-wise until he was well into his thirties
In fact he had made more than one fatal mistake as an upcoming wheeler dealer and the true value of this book shows us that Mr Green was able to lick his wounds learn his lessons and crack on.

Well worth a read for anyone thinking about starting a business or someone who simply wants inspiration.

2.0 out of 5 stars I can only assume the other reviewers have vested interest in this publication, 6 April 2008
Because it completley bog standard! Dont get me wrong if you are completley new to sales then it will benefit you, but it tells you absolutey nothing new.

Waste of money and btw this has made me much more cynical about reviews.
