This review is from: Before The Frost (Paperback)
Daughter and Father, explosive and efficient combination. Another good story and the introduction of Linda, Wallander's daughter, gave to his character another dimension. Not always the best view, but it sounds quite real.

The theme of technology and act of terrorism combined created a gripping story . Another case solved by this lonely, diligent , and captivating detective.

Although the story starts in a good pace and the characters are introduced swiftly, the novel loses impact and the solution of the crime is done in a clumsy if not simplistic way. There is also one or two silly comments about homosexuality, by the detectives. Nowadays we are still faced with some prejudices, but would not expect two male professionals to have such a bias view. If the detective, the main character in the book, the one we follow through and expect to solve the crime, has his flaws and any sort of prejudice, maybe would be better to treat it more carefully.
In general, the people and the city are fairly described. There are some misspelled words that could be rectified for a better reading. The book's story is interesting but loses its force along the way.
