5.0 out of 5 stars A simple copy of Black Flag ? No, no, no, NO !!!, 19 Mar. 2015
I was a bit worried that, after having played Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag THREE times (yes, I absolutely loved it !),
ROGUE would be a simple "been there - done that" kind of boring-ish game.
After all, same engine, same mechanics, same boats, etc, etc...

BOY WAS I WRONG !
What an excellent game this is :
much more weapons for the assassin/templar than in Black Flag,
much more weapons (and great ones) on the ships,
improved mini games, improved hunting (use your rope darts !),
a good story,
enjoyable missions

and all this in an absolutely gorgeous, breathtaking environment !!

If you thought about passing this one, think again !
Do not miss out on one of the best Assassin's Creeds ever !

5.0 out of 5 stars After patch 4, bugs are gone; what remains is an excellent game !, 18 Feb. 2015
Played it on PS4 and PC, and there really were a lot of issues (bugs, frame rate,...), even after the first few patches.
HOWEVER, after installing the latest patch, as good as all bugs are gone (a few remain but nothing upsetting though) !
It's a shame that most reviews don't change and don't get an upgrade over time, because Unity really, really deserves a serious upgrade !
The game is outstanding and an excellent addition to the AC-series.
Beautiful graphics and very nice gameplay.
I guess the big difference with the previous AC's is that
1) there are no ships this time (no big ones with cannons anyway), and, more importantly :
2) there are lots of enemies and you're not invincible anymore like in the other AC's. If you pick a fight in a hostile environment, you will almost certainly die. This means you have to be very careful when to show up and when to attack. So, we're back to "Assassin -style" instead of "Rambo-style". Very interesting development !

5.0 out of 5 stars You can improve the car handling dramatically !!, 11 Dec. 2014
This review is from: The Crew (Xbox One) (Video Game)
The Crew is a truly an amazing racing game, a real masterpiece BUT the car handling can be very frustrating sometimes which could in theory ruin your racing experience. More specifically, it is very hard to keep your car under control at higer speeds; the backside of the car starts sliding from left to right and back to left etc.... (= oversteering). It's as if you're driving on ice. I found this to be really annoying (and I am certainly not the only one).

HOWEVER, you can avoid this effect (oversteering) and improve handling of the car dramatically, especially by setting "STEERING SPEED FACTOR" at MAXIMUM.

My settings are :
* All driving help
* Steering sensitivity (relatively low, but you might like a bit higher)
* Steering linearity : MAXIMUM
* Steering speed factor : MAXIMUM
* Deadzone : minimum

After I adjusted my settings to the settings above, the car handling improved dramatically. I find that all cars are handling very well now.
No icy-effect, no constant oversteering and sliding from left to right and back again.

Yes, I will be posting this message a few times on other fora in order to help the gamers because this was clearly one of the main problems.

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist - Standard Edition (PC DVD)

5.0 out of 5 stars Masterpiece !!, 23 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Ubisoft scores another home run with this Splinter Cell Blacklist. I had a lot of fun playing and replaying it, testing out all of the gadgets and different strategies and I even liked the online levels (which I normally avoid). Truly a masterpiece ! Keep up the good work Ubi !!
Note that a lot of negative comments are related to initial bugs (most of which are solved by now), or to inappropriate equipment to play the game (mostly portables or low spec computers).

5.0 out of 5 stars Underestimated racing game, 23 Mar. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Very nice racing game and unfortunately underestimated.
I'm so happy I finally found another decent racing game after NFS keeps getting worse and worse...
I absolutely loved NFS : Most Wanted but after that it's all downhill for EA.
I can't wait to see Ubisoft's "The Crew"-racing game which is expected in 2014.

3.0 out of 5 stars Real leather ? Hmmm...., 23 Feb. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I suppose a part of this strap is real leather (backside and/or inside), but the black part is NOT. The black part is some faux leather tiny layer which can be peeled off (and wrinkles unnaturally). Although I was disappointed with that, I still decided to keep the strap because the quality of the strap is otherwise alright, and the finishing is nicely done.
In conclusion :
- Black part no real leather
+ looks very nice and quality is allright
Up to you to decide what's more important !

5.0 out of 5 stars Top Gun 3D : IS IT REALLY THAT BAD ???, 31 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I noticed a lot of negative comments on the Top Gun 3D DVD, which almost
resulted in me not buying the DVD. But fortunately I was stubborn enough
to buy it anyway.

And I feel it is really necessary that I put things in the proper perspective
given all the negative remarks made.

I watched the movie in 2D, in 2D to 3D conversion (say 3D "light") and in
full 3D. These are my findings :

1) REGARDING THE "GRAINY" IMAGES :
True, the film is a bit grainy and in a couple of scenes,
this is quite visible.
Most of the time however, it is not that obvious and it isn't disturbing at
all. Films in the '80's were much grainier than that and did that ruin our
experience ? Of course not ! Conclusion : if you are a hardcore bluray fan
and like supersharp images, skip this movie because you're going to be
disappointed. All the others : don't worry, picture quality is certainly
sufficient ! Note : I watched it on a 40 inch AND on a 80 inch screen - there was no noticeable difference in quality, both were just fine.

2) REGARDING THE COLOURS :
True, sometimes the colours seem a little bit out of balance.
Sometimes. A little bit. If I hadn't read the remarks, I probably wouldn't
have really noticed myself. Or in any case, it does not ruin the experience
at all !!! Colours are plenty ok !!

3) REGARDING THE 3D
The 3D effect is fantastic !!! Really well done! Jets seem to fly off your
screen right into your living room. They really did a good job on this one !
Are there better 3D transfers than this ? Probably, possibly. Who cares,
this one is just great ! It is awesome to relive Top Gun in 3D. What an
experience ! If you watch the 2D version of Top Gun, in a 2D to 3D
conversion mode on your TV, it is fun, but the real 3D is a whole lot better.
The difference is huge !

4) REGARDING THE MOVIE ITSELF
...and the "it's-a-cheesy-80's-movie"-remark
Okay, some parts are a bit over the top, such as the victory scene at the
end (when they land on the flightdeck ship).
But in general, I totally disagree !
This is one of the best films *** ever *** made.
After almost 30 years, this movie is still as fascinating and as breathtaking
as 30 years ago, when it just hit the cinemas. A lot of movies from that
period now seem hopelessly outdated. But Top Gun ? No ! If they had
waited 30 years to launch the movie in cinemas, the movie would be as
popular today as it was in 1986.
Look at how great the composition of the images are (f. ex. at the start of
the movie), the jets rolling by, the heads of the crew turning simultaneously,...
Listen to the music.
Notice how much attention they paid to numerous details and how much
effort that must have took : if you see a jet from a distance with a pilot,
with a red helmet, looking at his right side, and then you see a close up,
the pilot wears the red helmet and is actually looking at his right side.
Don't laugh, I have seen movies where an F-18 is pictured, with a pilot
wearing a green helmet looking to his right side, where in close up, the pilot
is wearing a red helmet and looking to his left side, sitting in what seems to
be an F-16 (certainly NOT an F-18). Notice how Maverick squeezes his
eyes, just after performing a sharp turn with his F-14, mimicing G-forces.
It's the sum of all these little details that made this into one of the best movies of all times !!!

CONCLUSION
Hardcore bluray fans who demand supersharp images : skip this movie.
All others, and certainly Top Gun fans : do NOT miss out on this one,
chances of being disappointed (after being fully informed now) are very low !!
Top Gun in 3D is a fantastic experience !!!
