Absolutely stunning!, 17 Sep 2008
If you are a fan of Mel Gibson's masterpiece 'The Passion of the Christ' then this book is an essential purchase.
The photographs are sublime; capturing key moments of the movie they tell the story all over again in still. From the garden of Gethsemane all the way to the tomb of Jesus. The colours are beautiful, blues contrasted with golds, everything about the photographs is artistic and striking.
Looking at the photos is never tiresome, the moments that are caught show so much about the story and the emotions involved. A favourite of mine is the photo on page 83; the expression on Jesus' face is amazing, He looks purposeful and strong despite what He has been through and what is yet to come. This contrasts with the powerful flashbacks of Jesus looking healthy and happy, page 25 shows this and the comparison is shocking and upsetting.
I don't know what else to say that can convey this book's presence and grandeur. I can only say this is a must for fans and anyone who appreciates really great photography. This book allows us to relive the amazing story over and over again at your own pace.
