This is just one of the great albums from this unique American band of two guys and two women. All of their albums tend to different and change from the one before a bit, and thsi one is more simply just straight heavy modern rock/metal tunes. These are some great catchy inspiring, thoughtful tunes as good as many more bigger, more well known bands. Check out this great lesser known secret from overseas. They're a really great honest heavy band.

Here is a band that stand out just a bit from the crowd. This is a few years old now, but one of their best albums. Its very focused, solid heavy rock/metal tunes, with sometimes deep, thoughtful, inspirational lyrics, a slight goth sound and a hint of industrial rock as it all rocks away. Very cool and different heavy band to try out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally fantastic highly original horror fantasy masterpiece!!, 27 Jun 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a lesser known but absolutely stunning genre-busting fantasy horror film from 1990 directed by the amazing horror/fantasy writer Clive Barker after writing and then directing the hugely successful horror film Hellraiser.
This is not a straight horror scare fest like Hellraiser, as it is much more. It is a almost fairytale like dark story, twisted fable set in modern times. A young man is not sure he has killed people or not, and might be framed. He runs away, runs to a strange mythical town for sanctuary and finds strange horrors waiting.
It is a fantastic film, a horror film ,but with a huge scope, a big tale to tell, monsters, lovers, romance, danger, serial killer. All of this and a music score from Danny Elfman which sounds very similar to his score for the huge Tim Burton Batman film released not long before.
This is a great film, but is not in the cut it was intended as. The director Clive Barker knows that the studios still hold many missing lost scenes which he hopes to eventually cut back into the film, and many fans want this. See the film and see how even more amazing it might be with the full story as it was originally intended. Fantasic fantasy horror film from a master writer and director of dark fantastic.

3.0 out of 5 stars Suprisingly good gothic ghost horror..., 25 Jun 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
yes it is from the short stories of the Horror/ fantasist writer legend Clive Barker so we are expecting a lot. It does actually though come through as a pretty decent spooky horror flick worth seeing. It is suprisingly similar to Clive Barker's Hellraiser-the original at least-and is quite a decent original suspenseful film. Yes, it is a bit slow, but keep with it and it has a real good level of proper brewing, deep gothic creepy atmosphere. It was the kind of horror I would prefer to see-no dumb girls running aorund, no stupid American jocks, just good characters and suspense and gore only when it's needed
. Very good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very great underrated modern metal from the Coop!, 22 Jun 2010

This album came a year after Brutal Planet-his heaviest most metal album ever. It was such a suprise, but I suppose he had many songs left over and shaped them into this kind of sequel to it.
It does actually have a very similar sound to Brutal Planet, that of late Ninties/ early 00's, down tuned heavy slow riffin, similar to some of the Nu metal bands like Korn, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, Disturbed etc.
So it has a very contemporary metal sound with the voice of Alice Cooper over it, his cynical, humourous sly lyrics, and expected wicked guitar bursts here and there. There are more good tunes here than I remembered from when I first heard it and I think it is aging well, being around nine years old now. A very good creepy, humourous, heavy metal album from the grand king of shock rock.

After a couple of broodingly fantastic very heavy modern metal records in the early 2000's, Cooper relaxed and quickly blasted out a couple more quick fun wild traditional rock album more like his older classic sleaze shock rock albums. This one is short, lean, fast paced, fun, wickedly rockin heavy little beast. Funny dark lyrics as ever, great high quality guitar playing and Cooper's highly distinctive vocals. A very good albums and very similar to his classic rock albums like Billion Dollar Babies, Schools out, etc. Great wild rock fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars Suprisingly great classic wild fun rock again from Coop!, 22 Jun 2010
This album goes right back to the mad, fun, good humoured sounds of his classic albums like Alice...goes to Hell, Schools out, etc. This one is not too serious, not one of his deeper thoughtful concept albums, it's simply a collection of great fun, dark, fast paced, hard rockin sleazy wild rock metal tunes as good as many of his most well known. The production is great, the lyrics and funny, intelligent, darkly humourous yet still thoughtful and it's just another really fine rock classic from the shock legend.

He was taking a long time, every time for a while but then he came back in 2000 with Brutal planet. A year or two later and he came back again, in total surprise with another one. Total shock, and has continued to pump them out fast and good since.
This is not really near as good as Brutal Planet, but it is very different and much closer to his older, sleazier, rock sounds from the seventies. This has a good few very good heavy rock tunes, a couple of funny dark ones and a couple of strange ones. Another very good album from a total rock legend.

Here is another newer album from Cooper from only around five years bac now. He was taking his time, but after Brutal Planet's surprisingly heavy return in 2000, he's been dropping down a new album every couple of years since pretty much. This is simply a great no nonsense straight ahead heavy rock album like many of his classic seventies ones. He shows he's still got that sly dark sense of humour with songs such as Woman of Mass Destruction, Sunset Babies(all got rabies) and a good few very great rock tunes like Dirty Diamonds, Run the Devil down, Six hours. A very good album of straight heavy rock from a classic grand master.
