3.0 out of 5 stars Adequate with a Few Reservations on Legibility, 29 Dec 2009
Be warned that the book is written out in long-hand (in 1909). It is fairly legible but the scan resolution is low and the beginnings and ends of some longer lines are cut-off.

However, the person I bought it for, found it helpful as an introduction to the subject for a beginner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Cheap but Well Made and Useful for Monitoring Electricity Usage, 24 Mar 2009
The unit is quite easy to install with the very clear instructions provided.

It is a noticeable improvement on the original model with better appearance and historical information logging. It also uses higher capacity AA rather than AAA size batteries;6 in total.

The unit is illuminated for "night time" use but strangely you have no control over when the backlight should be enabled.

Their web site [...] provides support, electronic versions of user guides, etc.

In use, one is typically enthusiastic for the first few days looking at "live" readings but later on one tends to let it collect data unattended with occasional inspections.

I would recommend comparing it with your electricity meter readings to begin with to make sure your cumulative readings match reasonably well. If necessary you can tweak the recorded values by adjusting the nominal mains voltage as part of the srtup process.

Also using reasonable quality rechargeable batteries would be better than disposable ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Pleasure to Demonstrate After Some Practice to Gain Skill, 30 Oct 2008

I can recommend this model without reservation. It is worth taking the trouble to learn to trim the controls for ease of handling in the air. It helps if you have some experience of flying model helicopters such as the simpler 2 channel Picoo or even a simulator on a PC. Once control sensitivity and orientation is mastered, this model is quite easy to fly.

Landings are tricky with the narrow wheelbase and will invariably tip over sideways, except on smooth shiny surfaces.

I've only had this toy for a couple of hours at the point of writing this mini review but I felt sufficiently enthused to report quickly my findings.
