I bought Duncan's book for my ex 42 marine commando Grandson as a present, after a chance meeting with his father who collected me from Exeter hospital. Read it first and thought it was brilliant...Rags Daniels, author of Lallapaloosa and Foxy Lady.

5.0 out of 5 stars An explosive thriller from the pen of Kristen Stone., 12 May 2012
Steven MARK ANDREW Penhaligan uses his middle names when pursuing his career as an investigative journalist and novelist. Little did he suspect his casually innocent use of a pen name would put his life in deadly danger.

When asked by the vulnerable, recently widowed, Paula McCarthy to investigate the true facts behind the new "Wonder Drug" which she is convinced was the real cause of her husband's sudden, premature death, Mark finds himself plunged into a deadly game of sex, deceit, intrigue, corporate double-dealing - and the all-pervading threat of sudden, casual violence and brutal murder.

For Steven Mark Andrew Penhaligan, the revelation that the drug he's investigating is in reality a product of his own father's company - The Penhaligan Foundation, only deepens the nightmare of the situation he finds himself enmeshed in. For while strangers can be dangerous - for Penhaligan, family can potentially be deadly.

Wry, laconic, thrilling and suspenseful - "The Penhaligan File" takes both the reader - and its unsuspecting hero, on a descent beneath the veneer of corporate luxury and into the morally dubious underside of business where profit pre-empts the value of human life; and the truth is whatever wealth can buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Churchill and Wade. A red hot cocktail laced with menace., 19 April 2012
Author, Stephen R Hulse has crossed the boundaries of the usual genre of Philip Marlow type detective thrillers with his, 'The Blue Hour'. It is a meeting of two minds. One, Alex Churchill, the alcohol dependent cop. The other, Gideon Wade, a mystery in knights attire. Fuse the two, and you have a lethal combination no villain would want to encounter up a dark alley on an anthracite dark night. 'The Blue Hour' is littered with an abundance of memorable characters, all honed to perfection by the author, they linger in the mind and leave you checking you've locked your windows and doors, before retiring for the night.

5.0 out of 5 stars To Hull and Back, 13 Mar 2012
This review is from: Reprisal (Kindle Edition)
I've never been to Hull, Alfie, except for a couple of hours whilst engrossed in 'Riprisal'. Liked the black humour, the plodding coppering of Marlowe, and the 'just when I thought I'd guessed right'...I found I had jumped to wrong conclusions. Obviously written using a coalface of experience. Question is: Will you be mining another of the same calibre?...And if so, when?

Rags Daniels.

The Collectors is a thumping good adventure yarn, and I understand, the first in a series of books by Ron A. Sewell. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007HEVSDK/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_img
