1.0 out of 5 stars Worst generic I have tried., 19 July 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I have tried pretty much all of the main stream generic nespresso pods and I'm afraid this is the worst of the lot - there is a strong plastic/chemical (??) undertone to this coffee - drank either straight as an espresso or as the base for other drinks it is pretty rank.

2.0 out of 5 stars The Chen problem, 5 Jun. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
In many respects this is a solid if workman like TNG spin-off. If you like time-travel then you will enjoy this. The writer has the voice of the main characters just right.

So why only two out of five? In one word Chen. For reasons that are not clear the writers really seem to like this character and really really want the readers to like her as well - however she is frankly baffling to me - she's not a Mary Sue but a character who seems to have wandered in from an entirely different series. I *think* she is meant to be zany but instead she just comes across as childish - by extension, the tolerance of the senior crew to this seems forced.

I will automatically give five stars to any book where the line 'Chen was transferred off the ship and never seen again' is featured.

this is just a badly edited synopsis for fan fiction that does not exist. given that it is also only eight pages long you should avoid.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works best in conjuction with fitbit flex or similar, 14 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Excellent piece of kit, took me a few minutes to set up and is now tracking my weight, BMI and body fat* - I use in conjuction with a Fitbit flex and between them I am getting a lot of useful information about my habits. My only critique of fitbit as a company is not the tech it is that they lack a UK database and seem unwilling to pay for one - telling users instead to use myfitnesspal to log food - I would prefer to use a single app.

* although actually the body fat is never going to be that accurate compared to medical testing equipment.

1.0 out of 5 stars Weak stuff, 20 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I enjoyed the Myron series but even though this is aimed at young adults - let's be honest, fans of the original series are going to pick this up and it's weak stuff.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor, repetitive, waste of money, 6 Jan. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I haven't been very impressed with 'The Fall' arc as it has relied on cartoonish characters and straw men badguys but I think this is maybe the worse of the lot - it is highly repetitive and many of the set pieces and situations are simply repeats of situations from previous boosk (Black ops killers, Starfleet ships firing on each other). Moreover, the actual 'reveal' is dull and relies on way too many coincidences to be credible.

Avoid.

1.0 out of 5 stars Agree with previous reviews - too slow, too much exposition, 30 Aug. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I agree with the previous two reviews - there is far too much exposition and too little action (in plot terms, I don't mean mindless action) - the book sets up a number of plot points for future books but fails to deliver in its own right. The main plot point can be summed up in a sentence and is sure to be recapped at the start of the next book, so give this one amiss.
