Pianistic virtuosity in the service of music., 11 Oct 2012
The second album on Decca from this young piano genius is as rewarding as the first, perhaps more so. Firstly the program on this CD is far from the obvious crowd pleasers one might have expected, but yet it is likely to make new converts to the repertoire as well as the soloist. The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic under James Judd is an equal partner to the proceedings, sounding like they have been making music together with the solist for years. Exciting stuff and highly recommended!
