3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting but not academic, 17 April 2012

I purchased this whilst writing my dissertation on Kaufman. Although very interesting for any fan's of Kaufman, this is more of a 'pop' book and doesn't go into more academic subject area as i was originally hoping. Great if you want to read about the screenwriters journey, look elsewhere for something deeper

4.0 out of 5 stars Good preparation for Hickman's run, 17 April 2012

This book gets a lot of bad press but I completely disagree with the fact that it's bad characterization of Doom. This is COMPLETELY how i would expect Doom. By the end of the book you can really appriciate how badass Doom really is.

That being said, this isn't teh usual family fun you might expect from the Fantastic Four but I don't think that is a huge problem has there are enough 'family friendly' FF books so a change every now and then is always welcome.

The book isn't without it's flairs. After a solid first arc from Miller, this one feels a bit more rushed. However, for anyone looking to start reading Hickman's brilliant run on the series, Miller's book are pretty essential as some story lines carry on through
