AMPED (Wired Book 2)
AMPED (Wired Book 2)
Price: £5.09

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it, 11 Jun. 2016
This sequel is a brilliant mix of action and cutting edge science extrapolated out into science fiction which feels within the reach of possibility. Intelligently and carefully written, without the typos and grammatical errors that seem to appear in so many kindle novels I've come across of late. Needless to say I will be ploughing into the other novels by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and furious, 29 May 2016
This review is from: WIRED (Kindle Edition)
Another engrossing book from Mr Richards. Bleeding edge tech and scientific theories combine to great effect to propel the story at a rate of knots. I love the data and information given to flesh out the subjects that the plot turns on as they are entertaining and thought provoking in equal measure. Now for Amped!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thought provoking action thriller, 22 May 2016
This review is from: Game Changer (Kindle Edition)
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, a fast paced hi-tech thriller that keeps the action moving along and doesn't let up. The subject matter is also detailed, thought provoking and entertaining in equal measure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic in the best sense, 27 April 2016
Loved this second book in the series and look forward to part 3. The big concepts and broad coverage of the application of future tech has the feel of real possibility and the connection to its birth in the present is clear enough. Once again, the play of elastic time through interstellar travel is woven seamlessly into the narrative, which is thought provoking, enlightening and entertaining, all in equal measure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cut from a classic cloth but with a style of its own., 27 April 2016
Brilliant sci-fi which had hints of Heinlein, Moorcock, Clarke. The thing I really enjoyed was the exploration of time in the concept of space faring, which I had not encountered in the same way before, and I have always been fascinated with the subject of time and the idea of eternity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Encore!, 25 Mar. 2016
The series goes from strength to strength, now I've finally caught up I'm relishing reading the next instalment. I've followed the zombie genre for decades and the master stroke with The Undead is, without a doubt, the ceaseless evolution of the virus. Such a unique take that turns the mindless killer automatons into a conscious, ever-learning adversary worthy of being feared.

In the end, the thing that really makes the difference and leaves me rooting for the team and wanting more is that the storytelling has so much heart. Bravo Mr Haywood, bravo!

5.0 out of 5 stars Bloody, brilliant!, 16 Mar. 2016
Unbelievable. I am blown away by each twist and turn and by how this series just keeps getting better! The introduction of new characters is wonderfully judged and when they are meant to be likeable, one takes to them very quickly. Big battles and the endless skirmishes are kept fresh and memorable by inventive twists and tellings. The best zombie infection idea development of any book or film I have ever seen, which is to say, more of them than I like to admit, and in my mind it has rewritten the whole genre. Now, onward to Day Nineteen. Bloody brilliant!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced action with a sci-fi twist., 12 Mar. 2016
Very enjoyable, and fast paced sci-fi, action thriller romp. Really liked the ET curve balls in the plot too, kept things from being just a geopolitical thriller. Will be reading the third in the series too.

5.0 out of 5 stars A savage zompocalypse novel!, 18 Jan. 2016
What an absolute corker of a story, told brilliantly, with a natural switching between first and third person that shouldn't work but does so seamlessly. I've been devouring zompocalypse books recently and this has been the cream of the crop; very likeable, believable characters, motivations and plot developments that simply keeps you reading every spare moment.

Right, straight onto the next in the series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another cracking read!, 18 Jan. 2016
Creepy as hell idea, captivating storytelling that makes you want to keep reading when you really need to get to sleep! Like all of his books I have read, they can take you on a journey of self-discovery as you can end up asking yourself questions about morality and what-would-I-do in the situations depicted.
