2.0 out of 5 stars Infantile - avoid, 27 Jun 2009
Joe McNally should stick to taking photographs and employ the services of a ghost writer when it comes to publishing books. While there is some good information buried in the text it is obscured behind a barrier of appalling teenage like prose that includes pseudo swear words and slang: "whenever you set off a flash, light goes frikkin' everywhere" ; "Took off Mr. Dome Diffuser and...". When Mr. MaNally's vocabulary fails him he just invents a new word that sounds hip : "Lessee", "whaddya", "bango".

There is some good information in this book but it is just to wearing to fight past the appalling prose - well written, it is not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awe-Inspiring, 27 Jun 2009
I agree with the other five star awarding reviewers; this small book contains a diverse range of fabulous natural history photographs. Each photograph is described in a concise paragraph of interesting, informative text which is so often missing from other collections of photographs. My only slight complaint is that the type face used is to small for my ageing eyes. In short this publication is well worth the money asked for it.
