Use it daily on my Achilles Tendon. I can now train more, without fear of injury. Also when you travel you can out a bottle of wine inside.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read!, 31 Aug 2013

A great book that debunks the 'Lions Led by Donkeys' myth of the Great War. Fact - we won, at a terrible cost in blood and treasure; we innovated a new way of war: the all arms battle. Which is still the cornerstone of British Military Doctrine and organisation.

Timely to read so that we can sort the fact from fiction over the next four years of hand wringing as we commerate the wars centenary.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sobering read, 11 July 2013

This is well researched, articulate and searing critique of our bittersweet experiences in Helmand and lack of coherent strategy for Afghanistan and the wider region.

It lays bare the premise for going to Helmand - a toxic mix of over ambitious politicians and generals focused on saving ancient infantry regiments.

The UK's current position on Syria and Libya would suggest that we have not learned anything.
