5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing new thriller novel, 15 Aug 2014

I used to work as a forensic nurse and often find that novels dealing with this subject ignore fact in place of story. However that was not the case with this book, because of this the story is even more chilling as it makes the characters very real and believable. The story was well written with a brilliant plot, a real page turner. Can't wait for more by this author.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well written, 7 Jun 2014

I downloaded this book for my kindle, it is well written, but for some reason just didn't do it for me. The story is based around the new girl at an adolescent reformatory and the power she has with the other girls. Reminiscent of The Lord of the Flies, i felt that the length of the story did not do it justice, too short for the amount of characters, but too long for a short story.

5.0 out of 5 stars A touching collection, 7 Jun 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I downloaded this book for free on my kindle, as it was described as a collection of horror stories. The collection however is far more than that, with every emotion being touched upon during the book, I will admit a couple of the stories even made me cry. A wonderful book well worth a read.

I downloaded this book for free for my kindle. Each story is set in Uncanny Valley and each has its own unique voice, form horror to romance, everything is covered in this book, as the storytellers lives intertwine for a surprising ending.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another brilliantly twisted collection, 8 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I couldn't wait to get this book, and again I wasn't disappointed. Nicholas Vince is a wonderful author who manages to make the scariest monster seem human, and the most normal of passersby seem like the boogyman. A collection of stories which hold a mirror up and ask "Would you?". Can't wait for the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good gothic read, 8 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I downloaded this book for free as I always like a good ghost story. It is written in the Gothic style as a series of letters between the protagonist, his brother, and his brothers wife with the characterisation being well rounded for a short story. It is well written and the plot moves along nicely as you watch the protagonist slip further into madness. An enjoyable read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent collection of 4 novellas, 8 April 2014

This review is from: Unnatural Tales (Kindle Edition)
I really enjoyed this collection, with zombies, werewolves and ghosts, this collections stories are not really tales of horror but are poignant tales of the supernatural. My favourite story however has to be "Bee" it is reminiscent of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's style of writing in Good Omens, and my only critique of the books would be that this story finished to quickly and would make a wonderful full length novel. Looking forward to more by this author.

What would you do to protect your family? After a strange man arrives at his doorway that's the decision that the protagonist has to make in this story. Well written characters and a page turning plot. This story reminded me of Joe Hill's work. Well worth a read

4.0 out of 5 stars A good read, 23 Nov 2013

This review is from: Mountain Madness (Kindle Edition)
I downloaded these books for free not knowing anything about the author. Both books were well written and although both set in the mountains this is where the similarity ended. The first story was reminiscent of Richard Laymons work and quite gory; the second story was much more similar in style to Dean Koontz and was not gory in the slightest. Both stories were worth reading and I look forward to more stories from this author.
