This was a present for a friend - actually a family relation - she was very pleased to get a book published in 1968 with interesting comments about her Jewish family in the United Kingdom before the author emigrated to Australia in the 1950's.

Excellent information for helping to cure and maintain body and mind with the careful selection of healthy organic foods and herbs - a necessary and useful reference book in any household for people conscious of the affect of food on our health and for recognizing the unhealthy eating habits that most of us have - for all ages. Food as a "medicine" without risks that we often run when taking conventionally produced medicines.

A wonderful insight into old Tibet before the Chinese invasion by an admirable Buddhist scholar, who used all her many talents to walk to Lhasa over high mountain passes in winter - a real life adventure by a brave, tenacious and admirable woman, the first European woman in Lhasa. Absolutely fascinating.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Lost World of Tibet DVD BBC, 29 Nov 2009
Very interesting with footage from before the Chinese invasion of Tibet, showing the old buddhist traditions, dress, practices etc.
Also the Dalai Lama interviews give an unusual insight into his warm relationship with his parents and family who can be seen in the video. I can recommend it as a unique document about Tibet and the life of the Dalai Lama in his youth and the tremendous responsibility of being the political as well as the spiritual leader of Tibet in such conflictive years with the Chinese.
