Poor Effort, 9 Nov. 2011
Another disapointing entry into the Inheritance Cycle. After I read Eragon I was excited but after each book I have become more disheartened with Christopher Paolini. Paolini manages to destroy any semblence of his original characters with Eragon having one of the most depressing evolutions of a character in a series.
Since Eragon there has seen to be no plan for what happens in the series even if Paolini was ripping off other fantasy writers least it seemed to have a point and the journey had a point but since then Eragon's path has seemed aimless and events occur. While Roran had the best of Eldest but he has been disappointing since.
Paolini seems to have written in extra meaningless sub-plots so he can re-visit his world time and time again. If Paolini thinks this will be successful I like to point out Tolkien had his Hobbit and Lord of The Rings masterpieces while the rest of the middle-earth is more of an obsession than great works of fiction.
