4.0 out of 5 stars A very good war film, 24 Nov. 2011
The Enemy Below starring Robert Mitchum and Curt Jurgens is a very good film and well-worth watching. Mitchum and Jurgens are respectively the captian of a destroyer and a U-Boat who become involved in a tense and psychological game of cat and mouse which cranks up to a brilliant conclusion. Overall, a very good film increadibly well-acted.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good sequel, 24 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Spider-Man 2 [DVD] [2004] (DVD)
Spiderman 2 is a good sequel dealing with the continued trials and tribulations of Peter Parker as he tries to lead a normalish life while fulfilling his responsibilities as a superhero. The film is interesting and well-acted although in my opinion the main villain is not as memorable as in the previous movie. All in all though a very good film especially for a sequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good film, 24 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Spider-Man [DVD] [2002] (DVD)
Spiderman is a very good film dealing with Peter Parker's transformation into the hero and how he adjusts to the role. The plot is interesting and on the whole the film is well-acted and moves along at a fast pace. Overall a good film.

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting relaunch, 24 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Star Trek [DVD] (DVD)
Star Trek in a successful attempt to relauch the franchise takes the viewer right back to the beginning of the story of the original crew of the USS Enterprise. By using an interesting plot device the film is able to present itself as a new beginning and therefore is able to be the starting point for a possible series of movies that do not have to stick perscriptively to the original story arc. All in all a very good film, well-acted and fast-paced.

3.0 out of 5 stars A weak attempt to cash in on a craze, 24 Nov. 2011
This review is from: Moonraker [DVD] [1979] (DVD)
Moonraker is a weak entry in the James Bond series partly because it was made at the time when the franchise was descending into parody but also due to the fact that it was released to try to cash in on the fashion for sci-fi which had been rejuvernated by Star Wars. The plot itself has an interesting central premise around the belief in creating a perfect master race but it is simply swamped by the weak jokes and the silly space story. All in all one of the weaker James Bond films.

4.0 out of 5 stars By far the best of the later Roger Moore Bond films, 30 Sept. 2011
For Your Eyes Only is a good film starring Roger Moore in his fifth outing as James Bond. The plot is interesting and the pace is pretty good, however, it cannot be regarded as amongst the very best due to a few annoying problems such as the superfluous and increadibly annoying ice-skater and the atrocious attempt at comedy right at the end of the film. Nevertheless, it is still a good film and certainly better than the next two films in the series.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Weakest of the Early Roger Moore Bond Films, 30 Sept. 2011
The Man with the Golden Gun was the second of Roger Moore's outings as James Bond but it fails to match both the preceding film Live and Let Die or the succeeding one The Spy Who Loved Me. The plot of the film drags along and the script resorts to the weak humour and cliches that would become a hallmark of the franchise. Also the film is not helped by the return of the abysmal sheriff from Live and Let Die who is neither funny nor interesting but just very annoying. However, there is one saving grace namely the eponymous Man with the Golden Gun played excellently by Christopher Lee. Nevertheless, this is a distictly average entry into the Bond series.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Debut for Roger Moore's Bond, 30 Sept. 2011
Live and Let Die is a good film which marked the start of Roger Moore's long reign as 007. It contains everything you would expect from a Bond film and does them quite well however it is slightly let down by the very weak denouement for the central villain and a tendency to resort to stereotypical views of the Southern United States and also of Caribbean culture. All in all though a good film.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Film, 30 Sept. 2011
The Spy Who Loved Me is a good film starring Roger Moore as James Bond. As a film it does everything you would expect and keeps just to the right side of the over the top campness, knowing quips and tired cliches that happened in later movies. All in all a good film.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Swansong for Sean Connery's Bond, 30 Sept. 2011
Diamonds are Forever is an alright film with a loose connection to the previous film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The film itself contains everything you would expect from a Bond film although the final set piece action scene is pretty weak. Also the movie is rather over the top and camp in places and can perhaps be seen as the start of the franchises' later decline. All in all an alright film.
