5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking Series Continues, 19 Feb 2014

Once again another great book in this series, This time the story is leading up nicely to the rebellion of Vercangetiox which looks like happening in the next book of the series which I'm really lookingh forward to.
Also a mention on the fantastic value of these books, less than £2.00 each which are every bit as good as Bernard Cornwell. Simon Scarrow ETC.

I really like this series, if you enjoy Scarrow, Cornwell ETC then there is no reason you won't enjoy these as they are right up there.
Great value as well on Kindle, can't go wrong.
The 5th book sees another dimension added to the series as two stories run alongside each other one on campaign in Gaul and the invasion of Britannia while the other is set in Rome against the backdrop of the real events of Pompey, Clodius and Milo which is great.
Looking forward to the 6th instalment and more after.......

A short storyish and a very good read indeed. I love Cornwell and Sharpe and there was a great little tribute in there to them (see if you can spot it).
I have read the Roman books by James Mace and really enjoyed them but while they were more fun filled action books this is a little darker and really hits home the true horrors from Badajoz and what both defender, citizen and attacker went through.

I really enjoyed the earlier novels but this I thought was the best so far, the characters have grown and have more depth, the action doesn't stop from start to finish. If you like historical fiction with lots of blood and guts then look no further. Can't wait for the next one............

Despite some poor reviews I thought I would give it a chance considering the very good price. I have to say, I really enjoyed it. Full of action, battles, blood and more. If you like that sort of stuff you'll love this.
