5.0 out of 5 stars Very sharp, 4 Jan 2011
A really sharp grater used for lemon and nutmeg so far but will be really useful for all grating. Very sharp, easy to hold and use. Could do with a hole in the handle for hanging up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book, 4 Jan 2011
I bought this as a present for my twenty-something daughter. The instructions are clear and uncluttered with line drawings and photographs showing the stitches and techniques. This is a good basic book with instructions on all the techniques needed in knitting and finishing off. The projects are mostly for children and babies things although there is a cushion cover which I might use for some buttonhole practice. A book to last for years as a reference for techniques and stitches.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent cream, 3 May 2010
This is an excellent everyday lotion, goes on evenly with no greasiness and just the slightest tint, so no worries about blending it in. Much better than using sun cream for everyday use, no smell and not sticky and no white glow that you sometimes get from high factor sun creams.

3 x R80 Reflector Energy Saving CFL Light Bulb E27 FREE CARRIAGE

4.0 out of 5 stars Different light, 24 Mar 2010
I have these in my kitchen ceiling recessed spots. The bulbs do protude below the rim of the fitting but as I have replaced all the bulbs with these it doesn't look odd. Like all energy saving bulbs they take time to reach full brightness so a quick cup of coffee is made before full light! The light seems cold, certainly more white than my old style bulbs, but it's fine once it's been on a while. These bulbs will certainly save me some money longterm, the price is good and delivery very fast.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mumbled dialogue, 18 Mar 2010
Not having seen Galactica on the television but having read rave reviews I thought I'd start off with the mini series. Looks exciting enough but badly let down by poor sound quality. Voices were mumbled and it was difficult to follow the dialogue especially with the men, so I missed out on some plot lines especially with the computer geek man (sorry, didn't catch his name). I will definately give series one a try and hope for more clear speech, if not then I won't be buying any more.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good book, 18 Mar 2010
As a beginner in bumblebee spotting I was looking for some good drawings or clear photographs. This book has an excellent quick identification chart with stylised colour drawings of thorax and abdomen bands which lead you to a short list of species. You can then turn to the photo pages where there is more information about appearance and distribution. The photos are okay, some arn't much help at all (bumblebees don't sit still for anyone!) so I think I'll be relying on the drawings. Good sections on life history and gardening and light enough to carry around.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good looking casserole, 13 Nov 2009
A much better colour than in the picture, more of a burgundy. This is a very good shallow casserole which can be used to brown food up on the hob before transferring to the oven . You have to heat it up gently, no high heat straight away and it needs time to heat through but it holds the heat well and simmers away quite happily on a low setting on the hob or in the oven. Nowhere near as heavy as the cast iron casseroles but still makes my oven shelf bow slightly when full. I like it because it's only six inches high which allows me to put anothes shelf above it and cook something else at the same time. Looks really good on the table and is nice to show off on my kitchen shelf.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent results, 11 Aug 2009
I am very pleased with this microwave,it's good to look at and easy to use. The steaming function is excellent, salmon fillets are beautifully moist and evenly cooked as is cauliflower. You set the weight of food (easy to do) and the steaming time is worked out for you and so far it's spot on! The best bit for me is the defrost function, no more chicken portions cooked one end and still solid on the other, there is a rapid defrost for meat fish and poultry (you input the weight again) and this leaves an even, very slight under thawing. Take time to read the instruction book, have a practice run with a dish of water and then it's dead easy.

Pest-Stop Electronic Rat Killer
Pest-Stop Electronic Rat Killer
Price: £36.47

3.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use, 11 Aug 2009
Our problem was mice in the attic and this seemed a more humane way of killing than the conventional mouse trap,we had read a couple of reviews that suggesred using the rat trap for mice just to be sure. It's well built and easy to set up, just put some bait in the far end and put it against the wall. The batteries are a very tight fit and you need to be sure you have good contact or it won't work! So far we haven't caught anything and no droppings around, so they've either been scared off by the very sight of it or haven't come in for the winter yet. No danger of pinching your fingers during setup or catching a mouse by its leg with this device.

2.0 out of 5 stars Small capacity bowl, 5 Oct 2008
Don't be fooled into thinking you're getting a 2 litre capacity bowl here, there's only just over 1 litre useable volume.I was looking for a processor to chop vegetables but this one just isn't suitable for chopping more than about one onion at a time otherwise you have to stop and remove some to finish some by hand before the rest is chopped to mush. The processor bowl fits onto the motor over a central removable spindle and sometimes it's a fiddle to get all this to line up and work, also the spindle can come away with the bowl and then drop out. The liquidiser is very good though, and so easy to clean. I wish I hadn't bought this processor. If you want to do small quantities you'll be fine, otherwise save up and buy one with a decent capacity, or buy a good knife, it may be quicker. Don't be fooled by what the maker puts on the box either, check their website for full product details before you buy.
