2.0 out of 5 stars bad design but quick to boil, 12 April 2016
This is a badly designed kettle.

When boiling, a lot of steam gathers on the exterior top of the lid and around the button at the top of the handle. It seems poorly sealed.

This doesn't affect the function of it too badly, you can still pour it, but it is makes the kettle less easy to hold and you need to watch where you're putting your hand. It also means that corrosion and build-up are visible, after two months, around the spout joins - not a good sign.

It does boil quickly and quietly. The interior cup level gauge is also useful. The blue light is tacky. The 'on' switch sometimes catches on the power cord running from the base.

Would I buy it again? Probably not.

This is an inferior product to a ten year old Kenwood of similar shape. How a decade later R Hobbs comes up with a substandard product for something as simple as a kettle just amazes me really.

3.0 out of 5 stars works a bit, too expensive, 17 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Have got two boxes out in rooms where I can see several moths on the walls and around skirting boards. After three or four days I've picked up a moth or two in each box. So it seems to work to a certain extent, but the cost of these things is far too high. Wouldn't buy again.

Also, there are still many moths about - OK so maybe these are the females and the problem will eventually go as they fail to breed, but there are a lot of them about!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good price but low quality, 11 May 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Good price but low quality. The two magnets at the end of the 'clapper' that hold it together have already fallen out after about 15 claps. The hinge works loose and needs tightening quite regularly, though this is simple to do.

OK for light usage.

1.0 out of 5 stars junk, do not buy, 28 Sept. 2014
This review is from: Fart Whistle (Toy)
Useless item. Big waste of time and money. Do NOT get it!
It's a bit of balloon very loosely sleeved over a bit of plastic tube. Blowing the tube quite hard - and harder than a seven year old girl can - produces a duck-like noise that's neither loud nor funny nor farty. The balloon slips off the tube easily. It doesn't always make a noise. It's a badly-made piece of junk and not worth its low price tag. The packaging is however quite good and professional. Don't buy it.

3.0 out of 5 stars very slow to aquire signal, regret purchase, 29 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Bulky watch with good functionality, display and software. No problems connecting to the PC via the ANT+, though I'd have preferred the option of a wired connection too.

However, my main and only real beef with this product is the ridiculously slow satellite acquisition time. I live in SE London in a street of terraced housing (so relatively open space). Sometimes the watch gets a lock in a minute or two, other times it hunts around for five minutes or more, outside, and still fails to lock on. I start the run anyway and it seems to sort itself out.

It's frustrating and not really acceptable. It won't lock on when inside the building so I have to leave and warm-up outside until it does so.

I wouldn't buy this item again and would pay more for a newer model where, apparently, the lock is swifter.

4.0 out of 5 stars good product, and easy to use, 20 Oct. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Good product.
Have used it on a 500cc motorbike to revive a battery that was not barely turning the starter motor.
The feature that allows you to leave a clip permanently attached to your battery so that you can connect the charger more easily without having to remove a side panel (though you still have to remove the seat on my bike) is very useful.
Would recommend this.

3.0 out of 5 stars very average, 20 Oct. 2013

It is a colourful map with pictures of national symbols / animals on it.

On the downside the fonts are rubbish. While you wouldn't want to crowd the map some could've been bigger. And there's a load of extraneous and useless info printed on it (credits, age range etc) that doesn't show in the pic.

It looks like someone did it on their PC printed it and then laminated. In fact they probably did. I may make my own.

It's OK but someone needs to make one that is bigger, less cluttered and without the unnecessary text.

3.0 out of 5 stars Miyagi-san, 20 Oct. 2013

This review is from: The Gift of Rain (Kindle Edition)
Enjoyed the setting, the broad cast of characters and the eventful plotting. Less captivated by the chop-socky themes and fatalistic pseudo spiritual elements, and some of the flowery descriptions. Bit long too.

Still, it was readable and I did enjoy it enough to keep the pages turning. Well-plotted. And not enough is written about this country.

2.0 out of 5 stars not good on Nexus 7, 29 May 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is about the product rather than the content - which of course is great.
The sub £2 price tempted me to try this on Kindle for my Nexus 7.
Bit disappointing really. Tiny text. And the option to zoom on individual panels is very slow. So not a great reading experience and I won't be repeating it for other Dredd titles going cheap.
Might be better on an iPad.

Wish I'd seen a review like this before buying it. Dredd deserves 5 stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars pricey, but works OK, 7 May 2013

I cycle and run and this feels good to roll around on and stretch.

I was concerned it was too short and initially wished I'd got a longer one. However, it is a manageable length for use on the legs.

The different areas of the grid can be quite small and you move off them very quickly so it's of limited use unless you're trying to isolate a small area of muscle.

A tube with foam on it. £40 inc P+P? Terrible value, and I really wonder if it'll last 'forever', though it should last longer than a foam jobbie. After a month of use the foam on this is looking a bit worn and I can hear it moving against the tube, sometimes.

Still, no other options really, and it's useful.
