5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, 18 April 2014

This review is from: The Yacoubian Building (Paperback)
I read this when I was incredibly nave and thought that muslims actually never had sex outside of marriage.

Infact this book is completely about sex, with marriage, outside of marriage, homosexual relationships , everything.

I found it soooo unbelievable. But I'm starting to realise that perhaps things are not as they are made out to be... like I care!

Also really interesting depiction of an extremist and how he came to be a terrorist or whatever you want to call it.

Can I just say - if I lived in Egypt I would NEVER sell my body, not for money, a degree, a husband, food anything.!

She smokes!

She has tattoos!

1.0 out of 5 stars Racist, 18 April 2014

Uhm, uncomfortable reading for muslims.

Also, the 911 wound hasn't healed so entertainment on this subject to me is just sick!

Only saving grace is that the film was the worst I've ever seen.

Okay positives - could tell immediately it was written by a jewish writer, the humour the style etc. So interesting in that respect.

Some saccharine ideas made me think but mainly, just a sick book.

My 3 year old loved this and all the characters.

I admire the main character, so beautiful and just like myself at that age. Really gory though, unnecessary gore.

okay so it illustrates how horrific domestic abuse is. But I still found it predictable. Would re write it if it was mine.

love it, slowly studying this book

It is good for - getting rid of your other half's admirers or as I call them "sniffer-a-rounders"

A life long read, one to master.

1.0 out of 5 stars erhm no - stick to online resources, 18 April 2014

erhm no didn't like the book

you need to learn the technique for doing mental arithmetic and this book doesn't have too much of that. Found the resources on the internet sufficient and just doing practise tests online worked wonders.

Felt like burning this book!

PS I passed this test! Go me!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy, 18 April 2014

I am quite hard to please and I find this book really interesting. It has so much information, some people may know these things already but it's all new to me. Great tips like.....

Buy:

Organic low fat dairy - probiotic great, source of protein
Organic tomatoes - wouldn't touch tomatoes before because they had zero taste and then I'd raid the crisp cupboard
Oats for breakfast - soluable fibre
dried beans - love them, delicious, I crave them

.... and there is so much more in the book. Just by making these simple changes I have managed to shed a few stubborn pounds, which I could not do before. I have noticed an improvement in my acne. I also feel satisfied by eating healthy foods and have more energy and do not fancy junk food. (I used to be a junk food queen)

Today I even bought a water filter. I am looking after myself and my families health, a responsible mum.
