This book has multiple personality disorder. The first half of it is bright, brisk, witty and full of charm. Although the second feels like it was written by a completely different person. It's like Ms. Burgess got tired of it and just needed to fill extra 150 pages with something.
Modern books have a 50 page phenomena when you get outstanding beginning of a book and a downward spiral of a wreck for the rest of 200+ pages. "A Girl Like You" managed to keep the plank for 150ish. So it's an accomplishment in that regard.
If you like chick-lit this novel will grab you at start and the rest depends on how easily pleased you can be. This piece of entertainment had it all going for it but went a standard Hollywood soapy drama road.
Good start, snore ending.
