5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book and well worth the money, 23 May 2015

An excellent book and well worth the money. It has very detailed transcriptions of many of Hendrix's best known tracks. Not perfect but very good. You still need to listen to what is coming out of the speakers and adjust your playing accordingly. My main criticism is that it does not contain 3rd Stone From the Sun. One word of caution: there is a cheaper thinner beginners version of this book that has an identical cover and title and retails for about £20. Make sure that you buy this version which is a much better book and much better value at around £30.

5.0 out of 5 stars A masterpiece!, 3 Aug. 2014

A candidate for the best E.P. ever. I am not a touchy-feely person and only two bands can make me feel like crying with the sheer beauty of their music - The Beatles and My Bloody Valentine. This is not just an E.P, it is a masterpiece.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great album!, 13 Oct. 2011
I think that the reason for the love it/hate reviews that this album has generated is that many Manic fans would like this album to be devoid of any poppy sounds. As a teenager from the 1970s my first love is classic rock and I normally hate anything that sounds like pop rock. But I have to give credit where credit is due: the Manics, Muse, and U2 are all incredibly talented bands (although U2 play far too many sissy songs). Even though this album is not as dark and aggressive as some Manic fans (including myself) would like it to be it is still a great album.

3.0 out of 5 stars How Prog Rock died, 31 July 2011
This review is from: Close to the Edge (Audio CD)
This album represents the reason why Prog Rock died: very high standards of musicianship that are very difficult for any up-and-coming Prog Rock band to emulate; lyrics that are nonsensical; some classical music thrown in similar to what you could have heard in Germany in the 1700's, which is OK if, like me, you like Bach's music. This album is so far up its own backside that it explains how punk was eventually able to push out Prog Rock. However, I do very much enjoy listening to the first number on the album which is also called "Close To The Edge".

Blizzard Of Ozz [Expanded Edition]

5.0 out of 5 stars Ozzy at his best, 31 July 2011
Ozzy's best post-Black Sabbath album. Ozzy is possibly the greatest ever Heavy Rock or Heavy Metal singer ever and Randy Rhoad's guitar playing is phenomenal. Lyrics are also very good. However,if you are not used to listening to very fast lead guitar playing it may take a few plays to get your head around this album. That's OK because it means that it will sound better each time you play it. This album is a must-have for any Heavy Rock/Metal collection.
