5.0 out of 5 stars slow start but is great veiwing, 18 May 2014
the begining of this series I found to be a bit slow going, but spader is teh launchpad for everything. his character drives the show, and If im honest is teh best thing about it. theres even a bit of alan shore ( boston legal) in his character RED.

this show fuses probably 24,homeland, and such shows together into the murky world of inteligence gathering, black ops, organised crime. all based around Red who has a connection with the female FBI agent who doesnt have a clue why. Red just happens to be on teh FBI most wanted list and is willing to give himself up and help the FBI....but only through her. But nothing is what it appears to be

Hopefully that will wet your apppetite. the story lines are better than alot of teh other stuff on teh 45 min format playing at the moment

so if you like your fix with twists and turns, gun fights, murders, executions, intrigue,, Cia agents, russian mobsters, columbian drug laors, revenge, mystery, torture....actually quite alot of torture, and teh ocaisional funny moment from spader then you will enjoy this...probably alot

If you have ever attempted to read clausewitz, then you will understand that books concerning stategy can be a real chore. This however does not, being that its an everyman book on stategy. not only does it cover the basic ideas from a military aspect but also ventures into its usage in politics and teh business world. freedman is essentaily proving a point that strategy is a plan and we all form plans to do everything- if you set an alarm clock to get up in teh morning you have the beginings of a strategy for your day- he covers alot of ground, and to be honest it makes a great touchstone to refer to when you need somthing written in academic speak interpreted into common usage language, also I find the best way to understand stategy is through example of it in action. there are some very imaginative chapters, covering topics I wouldnt have thought of, including the use of stategy in the bible, even some humour, but most of all it has that genre crossing ability to atract readers who have always been curious but been put off by an attempt at someone like clausewitz. The size isnt as daunting either when you realise its more to be dipped in and out of. all in all I found it a great book which is sure to grace many, stidents, soldiers, and business leaders shelves for years to come

3.0 out of 5 stars weetabix sweet, 23 Jan 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
basically this is weetabix with a sweet taste. if you were like me as a kid then you put sugar on your weetabix. thesedays I do not. this is essentially adding sugar to it, and to be honest I could take or leave. If your looking for that element then buy it, but to be honest if your looking for a healthier option just stick to the regular kind. its not massivly sweet, you can tell its golden syrup but its not over powering

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent, 10 Jan 2014
This review is from: Lone Survivor [DVD] (DVD)
May contain spoilers

based on Lutterels book as he is the lone survivor refered to in the title. A 4 man seal team set up an observation post waiting fo rthier target but are discovered and the choice between executing the shepards or letting them go to warn the taliban leads to thier future problem of having to fight them off till the cavalry arrives. This is not entirely an acurate portrayl of the story but it is handles well and teh portrayl of how seals fight and move and talk is pretty good. there will be moments where people see it as jingoistic, but I have to say after meating a few seals over the years, its preety much how they talk and how they encourage each other. only one moment did I find it a bit over done but the rest I pretty much accepted as likely.

all in all alot of action but also a thoughtful piece on how order gets to chaos and how men handle chaos under fire

as far as any bran ceral goes its the forever search ofr one with some flavour. This is as close as I have gotten to one I actually buy regularly and enjoy. it tastses basically like weetabix but in a more crunchy format. Its also very filling so its a good way to keep hunger away during the morning, plus allegedly its good for me but then I dont trust food manufacturers so maybe it is, maybe it isnt. However I enjoy it and am happy to live in ignorance about the rest concerning this ceral. Buy it, try it and see how you get on which is the only way your going to find out

4.0 out of 5 stars very good, 24 Dec 2013

following on the bandwagon of a raft of these 30 minute meal books we now have 20 minute meals - next will be 110, then 5 etc etc- MArtins one is nicely set out with simple instructions on each meal, and a large glossy photo on each recipe and there are plenty of interesting looking dishes to try. If however your looking for simple meals as in style and content then you might want to look elsewhere, as this is a more being interesting in 20 minutes rather than your basic meals in 20 minutes. wont appeal to all but is a good quality puplication that I recomend thumbing through and you will find a few gems t your taste

5.0 out of 5 stars fantastic, 19 Dec 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I sat down to read the first couple of pages of this and teh first hundred ticked by without me realy noticing. To be honest I expected a slow burner like norman stones rising 44, howver this shoots along wonderfully, flicking between teh major plays, minr players, and teh backround to the situation at the time for teh germans, russians and the polish home army. Each is dealt with unemotionaly and with what - without further delving- appropriate and excellent analysis. To be honest its the narrative style that is the major winner with this book. the author sweeps you along in teh story and never relents, you just want to turn page after page, or when you have two minutes you want to go back to the book, which to me has always been the sign of an excellent book. The lauguage is plain but not over simplified, and teh detail is never more or less tahn it need be so I never felt I was reading a text book, but always reading an episode of history, in hindsight yes but with the appropriate amount of explanation for actions, decisions, results. As a reader of only historical, and academic books its always a bonus when you find one so well written as this that you dont find yourself loosing focus - or the will to live- trying to get to the finer points of moments. truly a gem of a book which will leave you wth teh right srt of quations and a thirst for more information on the people and the time. An excellent book and I will be interested to see what the author writes next.

In short giving Antony Beevor a run for his money in style, One to watch out for in teh future, and this book should be on everyones wishlist with an interest in WW2/Polish history.

arrived just in time to tack my speaker wire to the skirting!...anyway, its heavy duty and feels like its never going to break. the triger has a lcok on it so you dont have it sticking up so its easy to box up after you have finished with it. it didnt missfire once, and it dug good and deep into teh skirting so there was no gap between it and the wire. good tidy bit of kit really. also I didnt feel a hand cramp after using it for an extended period. eay to load, easy to use, easy to store and will probably outlive me

4.0 out of 5 stars good but, 27 Nov 2013
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
the angle that this book is taken from is an interesting one. the facilitators behind teh scenes to the holocaust are never really focused on in any depth so its intersting to see them in the limelight. how these people reacted before during and after thier involvement in the holocuast is examined by the author in some detail, sometimes tailing off from essential information which I found detratced from teh pace and direction of teh book. Also you notice that teh author allows her own feelings to enter into certain parts of teh books which some will find engaging but other wont it really shouldnt show up in a history book as anything other than analysis. But Im not sure it is entirely meant to be a pure history book.

in short a very interesting book on a rare aspect of a wide subject
