5.0 out of 5 stars Ayreon and on and on and on !, 6 Nov 2013

This is a beauty of an album , the like of which is very rarely seen these days. The album with it's wonderful Tull like hook is a great prog epic in the tradition of the one's that went before and reminds me so much of waiting for the new Yes or ELP release . The art work by Jef Bertels (today's Roger Dean) leads you into a magical Arjen concept with a journey of time changes to compliment the story and the great vocalists that tell the tale as actors would on stage.

Anybody familiar with Arjen's work will already have this album , but if by chance you stumble upon this and the other reviews looking for somethhing different but yet familiar to listern to and have a love for all things prog , then do buy and sit back on a journey of pure escapism and enjoyment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take The Time, 30 Sep 2013

Like any good prog album , you have to take your time and let DT get into you and then you will reap all the benefits of this well crafted delight. You can't make a snap judgment of this cd on just one or two listens and if you do then you cannot be a proper DT fan and I would view with some suspicion the reviews and reviewers that do.

Every song is strong,' Along For The Ride' is a beauty and 'Illumination Theory' is as the longest piece exactly what the band does best , produce a song that is epic in name and sound.

If you are quick to judge then you are in the wrong game and either haven't a clue about the band or should spend your time listening to Bon Jovi ! This is as ever a really good album, not a classic yet but over time (which DT are good at)it may well prove to be. One thing is for sure, this will sound great live, can't wait!

5.0 out of 5 stars Starlight to Stardust, 8 Oct 2012

It's like 1977 all over again but with a sprinkling of Jeff's 2012 stardust to some of the greatest and infectious pop songs that have ever been written.

It's easy to be cynical but the fact of the matter is that jeff never does anything by half,he alway's produces quality and it is here in abundance. There is no need to get heavy or deep, just sit back as long as you can before you start tapping and skipping to a band and an artist that amongst all the drivel of today ,have been sorely missed.

Welcome back Jeff , we miss you ,but now get Bev,Richard and the boy's together and in the memory of Kelly lets have the return of the magnificant 7 with your spaceship and lasers .Long live Jeff and long live ELO.

3.0 out of 5 stars technical problems with fifa 12, 13 Dec 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: FIFA 12 (PS2) (Video Game)
Love this game but one real major problem is that when you play West Brom ,they only have 10 men and this problem has also occured with another team .On the plus side ,you do tend to win those games but it's a defect which really shouldn't occur . Anyone else had this problem ?

5.0 out of 5 stars A Rush of Opinion, 24 Jun 2009
If there is ever a band that divides opinion,it's Dream Theater. It is not possible however to form an opinion on any of their albums unless you have taken the time to listen to each of them over a long period..too many rush in !

The fact about D.T. is they never stand still and one can't expect them to sound the same today as they did when they recorded 'Images and Words' for example, and thank goodness they don't.Another fact is this is a very good album but one which some people will like and some people won't,but that is D.T. for you.'Wither' alone is a wonderful song and worthy of this great band.

Enjoy this band for providing us with music that the likes of Rush and Yes have long forgotten. They won't be around for ever but this album will be as it is wonderful testament of a superb band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Arjen the Master, 31 Jan 2008
This review is from: 01011001 Bonus DVD (Audio CD)
This man is the song writing equivalent of Gabriel,Sinfield and Anderson(Ian)but with nobs on.Nobody dares to do this kind of music, this kind of project anymore. The man Arjen Lucassen is the genius that is Ayreon.Buy,sit back, enjoy and in the masters own words 'carpe diem'.
