Loose Change - Final Cut [DVD] [2007]
Loose Change - Final Cut [DVD] [2007]

5.0 out of 5 stars Professionally Produced Intellectual Documentary, 2 Feb 2014
The mounting "evidence" presented in the documentary begins somewhat "skeptical" but as the film progresses, more and more arrows are discovered which all point rather conclusively in the same direction.

The producers have certainly done their research and have compiled a most convincing case.

If you are a normalcy bias theorist looking for sensible answers, then this film is for you.

If you are a small minded conspiracy theorist branding lunatic - don't bother.

Prophet Chess Variant Score Book
Prophet Chess Variant Score Book
by Simon Jepps
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars Suitable for many other variants too, 23 Oct 2013
This Chess Variant Score & Notation Book is perhaps the first ever such publication. Whilst primarily designed for Prophet Chess, the book can be used for many other variants such as Modern Chess and even Omega Chess by just drawing in the extra 4 corner squares. So for example, this will work for 7x7, 7x8, 8x8, 8x9, 9x9, 8x10, 9x10 etc, whatever you want, just cross or shade out the extra unwanted squares. A valuable gem of a book since there are probably very few, if any at all alternatives for Chess Variant score keeping.

I should add actually, if you are using this book for multiple variants, you would do well to make a note in the front or back of the book to say how they are organised. For example, games 1-50 Modern Chess, 51-100 Omega Chess, 101-150 Prophet Chess, 151-200 another variant. I only actually play Prophet Chess as my favoured variant, since I invented it (lol), but I also play Orthodox chess on occasion. So I use the back of the book for orthodox/normal Chess and the front of the book for Prophet Chess. If you likewise only have one favoured variant, you could then use it this way yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much better than using a rod!, 7 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This flute cleaning cloth has a weighted string attachment. So instead of spending your entire life trying to find the perfectly dimensioned cleaning rod... just buy one of these. Drop the weight into the flute until it sneaks out the other end - then grab it and pull the oil soaked cloth through the flute. You can grab the cloth if you like and pull back up, then down, to a fro until evenly oiled. If you like you can even drop the weight in the other end of the flute and do it all again just for fun! I expect it's machine washable. Seems to be a kind of harmless cotton.

Soviet Canvas Belt Bag - Beige
Soviet Canvas Belt Bag - Beige

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally my perfect belt bag, 7 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Soviet Canvas Belt Bag - Beige
Hey this is awesome! It is not too bulky, has three good sized compartments and is very stylish. It's main design benefits are its dimensions. It is fairly slim and so does not stick out from your belly - yet at the same time is tall and wide (23 x 18 cm) or kind of square. The detachable mobile phone pouch stays affixed firmly by the metal popper button and means I can keep my trouser pockets lighter. Very good workmanship and I do not foresee it breaking for at least a few fair years. It will store my phone, my wallet, some loose cash, a Lynx Bullet, some USB sticks, a notepad, a couple of pens, heh even a CD or 2 and even more than that. I will definitely be ordering some more as backup in case they one day disappear from this sad, sad world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hmm, well not bad..., 7 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It is dimmer than a 9 LED torch, but the actual centre of focus is brighter. The torch is effectively dimmer since its range of focus is much smaller than a 9 LED torch, but the centre of focus is stronger. So its a personal choice. It would not necessarily be suitable for a "search and rescue" scenario, but as an everyday torch for "travellers of the low lit path" and who would like a detachable self defence weapon ~ then this is a lovely item.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jazzy? Yes! Sweet Pepper? No., 12 Dec 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Kind of Pepper (Audio CD)
I bought this because I had little money and wanted as much of this Art pepper phenomena as possible. Well.... there is indeed a great deal of jazzy material here - but - they are first of all practically all fast tempo 'hippy' kind of jazz and nothing like the sweet, slow, sincere and mellow Pepper I so badly needed. Also the recording quality, whilst fine if you have a good system, isn't as deep and rich as some other of his recordings.

If you are after a lot of fast tempo and swingy Pepper then go for it, but if you want his sincerest expression of life - then get the album 'Art Of The Ballads'.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps hot for ages, is robust and light, 31 Aug 2012
If you fill this thing with boiled water prior to filling with coffee or tea, letting its interior warm up for 5 minutes, your hot drink will stay hot for 12+ hours! It is remarkably light. There is no handle - but for me that's what attracted me to it - and also I was looking for something of a "classic" style and less modern.

It is of course brand new and modern technology - but looks and feels like a vintage model.

Great value! Very impressed!

5.0 out of 5 stars 1968 Yet You'd Think It Was Made Yesterday, 25 April 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I bought this on DVD because as much as I'd heard a lot about this film I had never seen it.

Believe me - the optical illusions created in this film would convince you it was made yesterday.

There is zero CGI in this film - it is all done with optical effects/props and camera trickery.

Considering everything is done on the cheap with CGI nowadays - it is needless to say that this film is something you must have.

It is films like these where the maker's put in the passionate effort to create as realistic and illusion as possible with real life people and real life sets, where you feel totally entertained.

Like you believed Christopher Reeve really could fly, you'll believe these guys really are in zero gravity.
