5.0 out of 5 stars Indespensible for historians of the period being as it is a contemporary account, 19 Oct. 2014

Incredible to think that such primary sources are now available to study a period often overlooked for one reason or another in Irish history. There are numerous spelling errors however, as these are "of the time" and in most cases easy to spot and understand, the narrative is quite simple to follow. The level of detail is most surprising and the book offers an insight into the minute goings on of the Confederation.

5.0 out of 5 stars incredible detail - superb, 19 Oct. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This surely has to be the most comprehensive single Battalion history published thus far, complete as it is with a biography of many of the soldiers who served with the Battalion. Weighty indeed, but what detail. If you want to know about the men behind the actions, then you will not find a better book. Just make sure your bookshelf is able to support the weight !

5.0 out of 5 stars A "Must Have" book on the subject., 13 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The only well researched book I the subject I have yet seen, this is quite simply THE book to purchase if you are interested in the subject matter. well written and illustrated throughout, the book examines the combat history of each Luftwaffe Field Division in turn and must be seen as the "go to" book on the subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST HAVE GO TO GUIDE, 13 July 2014
An exceptional easy to use guide to the complex subject of English Civil War Scottish Armies. Containing the usual mix of concise text, superb colour illustrations and assorted diagrams and reproductions, the book attempts to clearly explain the slightly more exotic Scots Armies. A "must have" go to guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars AS GOOD AS IT GETS, 13 July 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Containing some very interesting information and the usual excellent art work as one might expect from the Men at Arms series, this book deals with some of the lesser known elements of the German war machine in WW2. The information is easily digestible and text well written and there are the usual high quality photographs accompanying both text and illustrations. Highly recommended.

HITLER'S EASTERN LEGIONS VOLUME II: OSTTRUPPEN
HITLER'S EASTERN LEGIONS VOLUME II: OSTTRUPPEN

5.0 out of 5 stars GOOD TO GO, 13 July 2014
Although by it's nature and given the lack of material remaining on these formations, the book was rather short in places, it did provide new and interesting information as to the eastern formations of the German Army in WW2. I would however recommend it to those wishing to understand what part was played by these units.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bolt Action - Armis of Germany guide, 11 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As with all Warlord Games publications, this guide is very well illustrated and contains more detail as to the make up of and equipment used by the German Army in WW2 than is covered in the general rule book. My only criticism of the book however is that whilst there are good Order of Battle details for various periods of the war, there is not much of a painting guide reflecting the changes of uniform as the war progressed - if you want to paint your own forces to a high standard such guides can be invaluable to save on the expense of purchasing more painting guides. That aside, the book is of a high standard and a most welcome addition to the Warlord Games book range.

Delivery from the vendor was fast and efficient.

5.0 out of 5 stars BOLT ACTION RULES BOOK, 11 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Beautifully illustrated and well thought through, this hardback book explains clearly and concisely the mechanics of the Bolt Action small unit WW2 game. There are sections on each part of the game process, the various weapons available to each nation and an easy access order of battle guide for those armies, each with many great pictures to inspire those painting their own armies and collecting a bolt action force.

Delivery from the vendor was fast and efficient.

5.0 out of 5 stars WARLORD GAMES RED DEVILS BOXED SET, 11 Jun. 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
As you might expect from Warlord Games, the metal figures are both well proportioned and detailed. Painting them to a high standard was quite easy as the moulding detail is crisp and had little flash. That which existed was easy to remove. The figures can be used for almost any WW2 airborne operation and include a full section, a HQ element, one HMG team, an LMG team and a Piat team. Overall, good value for money.

Delivery from the vendor was fast and most satisfactory.
