5.0 out of 5 stars The Best From Season 2, 22 Mar 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
It took a year but Universal/Classic Media have finally released the 10 episode best of Season Two DVD. This is technically the very first time episodes from Season Two have been released in the UK. No doubt that Season One would have to be re-released before we see a new full release of Season Two, but if you still want more He-Man after the Best of Season One, then defenately get this as it's worth the price.

The quality of the episodes is once again superb, using the superior PAL masters that were in Hallmark's possession, before the Filmation back catalogue was brought by Entertainment Rights, then Classic Media. These episodes couldn't be any higher in quality, at least by DVD standards. ;)

The episodes as before were chosen by James Eatock; author of Cereal:Geek magazine and the unofficial He-Man Episode Guide. Like before in the Best of Season One disc, there is a slight alteration between this and the two disc BCI Eclipse U.S. release, all the Season Two episodes are included, except for 'To Save Skeletor', which has been replaced.

The episodes are as follows;

1. Origin of the Sorceress
2. The Shadow of Skeletor
3. The Arena
4. Into The Abyss
5. The Rainbow Warrior
6. Three On A Dare
7. Battlecat
8. Not So Blind
9. Teela's Triumph
10. The Problem With Power

Overall another worthwhile purchase for all He-Man fans new and old alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Nearly Peaceful Future., 20 Mar 2014

Once again the writing and artistic talents of Amash, Flynn and Yardley shines through in this title, which brings you a great story, as well as superb artwork. Both the story AND artwork makes this title worthwhile for Sonic fans. :)

This story as the title says takes place 30 years into a possible future timeline, King Shadow has been dethroned by Sonic and is now King of Mobius and has finally married Princess Sally Acorn who is now his queen, after he forced upon marriage to King Shadow. They now have two children; a daughter called Sonia (who resembles her mother) and a son called Manik (who resembles his father) (the names are an obvious nod towards Sonic's brother and sister from Sonic Underground) and five years have gone by where the whole planet was at peace.

But not all is well, the Dark Presence, the former army of King Shadow, led by Lein-Da, the aunt of Mobian Guardian; Lara-Su, who tries an assassination attempt on the royal family, but were saved at the last moment by Silver the Hedgehog, who has come to the past from his future to warn the royal family of a terrible threat to Mobius that was about to happen. After infiltrating the royal palace; Lein-Da and the Dark Presence go into the underground catacombs beneath the palace and frees King Shadow from his imprisonment and as revenge plans to destroy all off Mobius by unleashing Tikhaos, the unification of the ancient echidna; Tikal, fused by the ancient water god; Chaos. When King Shadow feeds her too much Chaos Energy, Tikhaos goes on a rampage through the city of Portal. It's up to King Sonic to round together a new team of Freedom Fighters, consisting of the children of the Prowler family, the D-Corlette family, Lara-Su and Vector the Crocodile's son; Argyle to save the planet from destruction.

Also included is the bonus story of 'Mobius 25 Years Later', which takes place at the start of the five year peace period and sees the echidnas of Mobius getting used to their new peaceful lifestyle and Knuckles has a conversation with his daughter Lara-Su about becoming a guardian. The artwork for this short story, drawn by Steven Butler, is not the same as the main story, but it is very nice to look at.

And you have some 'Off Panel' mini stories which tells the '30 Years Later' story in a more comedic fashion, not that the main story doesn't have it's fair share of humour, it of course does.

So overall a fantastic read and defenately recommended to Sonic the Hedgehog fans.

Sonic Saga Series 4: House of Cards
Sonic Saga Series 4: House of Cards
by Sonic Scribes
Edition: Paperback
Price: 7.21

5.0 out of 5 stars Tails...A Traitor?!, 1 Dec 2013
Once again another awesome book by the team of Flynn, Yardley and Amash which contains both awesome stories and equally as awesome artwork that gives plenty of life to the characters.

Chapter 1 is entitled 'Home, New Home'. The Freedom Fighters are just getting used to their new home of New Mobotropolis, despite being constantly attacked by Dr. Eggman (Robotnik)'s forces and thanks to a power shield, generated by N.I.C.O.L.E., Eggman and his Egg Fleet are powerless to enter. Most of the other villains of Mobius such as Ixis Naugus and Mammoth Mogul have been imprisoned within the city also. Hope Kintobor says an angry and tearful farewell to her half-brother; Snively after he betrays the Freedom Fighters once more and Eggman's latest battle suit gets wrecked by our heroes.

Chapter 2 is the first part in the two-parter 'House of Cards' (like the title of the book). Now that Eggman's forces can't harm them, Amadeus Prowler; Tails father starts a revolution and gathers together a large group of citizens to demand that the current King; Elias Acorn to hand over much of the governing power to the people, to prevent a further war from occurring, but winds up getting arrested for it. Though Elias himself begins to question his duties as king. Meanwhile Tails and his mother; Rosemary, break into the detention centre to free Amadeus. Soon Sonic shows up and an all out brawl begins between what seems to be now two former best friends; Sonic and Tails.

Chapter 3 is the second part of 'House of Cards' called 'Royal Flush' and I do love the artwork used for the front of this chapter, seeing Sonic tear up a 'Tails: Enemy of the State' poster up. After that, we see Sonic and Tails continue to fight one another, but it wasn't just because Sonic was on the side of the Acorn family, but a more personal reason as to why, notably his recent relationship with Fiona Fox, someone that he too had loved. Meanwhile King Elias and Amadeus Prowler are also duelling, till it was stopped by N.I.C.O.L.E. and Sally Acorn and all become friends again once they talked and arranged a compromise that a new council will be formed, but the Acorn sovereignty will remain.

Chapter 4 is entitled 'Preparations for War', Sonic once again battles Eggman in one of his latest machines, but the battle ends where the two of them began talking. As it turns out, the Council of Acorn has just met Dmitri, a small mechanical spheroid of whom was once a powerful being called Enerjak. Dmitri then warns the council that Dr. Finitevus is planning on bringing him back to Mobius and measures must be taken to stop him. Soon Sonic and Eggman agree to a truce until the Enerjak threat has passed, then prevented Team Chaotix from leaving New Mobotropolis to find Knuckles (who had let earlier to return to Angel Island in the book) in case they are needed there. Though Tails prepares to go out and look for Knuckles. Meanwhile Fiona Fox and Scourge the Hedgehog are now working for Dr. Finitevus and soon see what his ultimate goal really is.

Then after a brief history about Amadeus and Rosemary Prowler, there's a bonus short story, Part 7 of a mini series called 'Tossed In Space: Starring Sonic The Hedgehog' and the story is called 'Welcome To The Wheel World', where Sonic winds up on the alien world of Argentium, meats an alien race called The Bem and meets up with Tails' parents or the first time, as well as aid a Bem alien fugitive from getting killed.

Then there's information pages looking at New Mobotropolis and some notable locations within it.

Overall if you're a Sonic fan, I defenately recommend this, the stories and artwork (especially for the main stories in this book) are just outstanding!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Union and a Destined Battle!, 1 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The third issue of Sonic Saga Series is just awesome, once again the talents of Flynn, Yardley and Amash are not wasted in this epic book.

Chapter 1 first brings us a few short stories; first is the two-parter called 'See Ya Later, Chao'. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles visit a new Chao Garden, but during their visit Dr. Eggman (Robotnik) shows up and attacks our heroes.

Then in 'Round Up', as soon as Antoine proposed to Bunnie to marry her, the Freedom Fighters are called out on a stake out mission as Rogue the Bat manages to trick Ixis Naugus and Mammoth Mogul into thinking she has the Master Emerald for the duo, but the Freedom Fighters wind up defeating them and returning them to Knothole, along with Fang/Nack, Bark and Bean.

Chapter 2 is a regular length story entitled 'Union', Antoine finally ties the knot with Bunnie and the whole group of Freedom Fighters attends the ceremony, everyone that is except Espio the Chameleon of whom had infiltrated Eggman's base and discovers his horrifying invasion plot and what he plans to do with the captured Freedom Fighters.

Chapter 3 is entitled 'Eggman Empire' (Hence the name of the book) the Freedom Fighters don't have much time to relax after the wedding, as Eggman makes his move and attacks Knothole village, completely destroying it and the Freedom Fighters headquarters, capturing most of them and Sonic seems completely helpless to defend himself against Eggman's latest battle suit. But regardless of what has happened, Sonic is determined to get his captured friends back.

Chapter 4 is both a regular and a two-part short story. First in 'Cracking The Empire', Sonic and the few Freedom Fighters who are left Tails, Knuckles and Amy Rose, along with their computer ally N.I.C.O.L.E. head out to free their captive friends of whom are imprisoned in Eggman's egg grapes. Poor Charmy Bee almost bit the dust, but was rescued in time, along with the others and does N.I.C.O.L.E. have a plan to get everyone to a new safe haven away from Eggman? Read to find out. ;)

After that is the short story 'Sonic Rush', where Blaze the Cat has her first encounter with Sonic. I assume this is loosely based on the Nintendo DS game of the same name.

Plus there's profile pages on New Mobotropolis and Dr. Ivo 'Eggman' Robotnik.

Bottom line is this book has a LOT from start to finish and the artwork for the main story is absolutely gorgeous and really brings out the emotions o these characters. Highly recommended for Sonic the Hedgehog fans out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anonymous Makes It's Move!, 30 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The story practically continues rom the last book, though there are a few little gaps, but are which explained in the story itself.

Chapter 1 is Part 1 of the story 'Order From Chaos' entitled 'The Gathering', as it turns out Eggman's (Robotnik's) computer A.D.A.M. was Anonymous all along and plans to own every single Chaos Emerald from existence, including ones from alternate dimensions. It first takes over the robotasised body of Tommy Turtle to keep Eggman busy, then it takes over the mind of Sonic's own father (who himself is a robot at this point) to kidnap Tails and Shadow the Hedgehog had been summoned by Eggman before A.D.A.M. took over and was soon beaten in battle by it. Now with Tails and Shadow captive, A.D.A.M. has all it needs to begin it's plan.

Chapter 2 is the second part, plus a few mini stories. First it's Part 2 of 'Order From Chaos' entitled 'The Great Harmony', A.D.A.M. is about to retrieve all the Chaos Emerald's including Angel Island's Master Emerald, however Sonic comes in to save the day. While Sonic distracts A.D.A.M. as Super Sonic, Super Shadow and Turbo Tails (basically Tails wearing a cape) try to stabilize the energies of the Chaos Emeralds to achieve 'The Great Harmony'. A.D.A.M. also gains a more powerful form and soon it was up to another Freedom Fighter to make the ultimate sacrifice to ensure A.D.A.M.'s destruction.

Then there's the short stories, first 'Courage and Honour', which sees Antoine's dying father give his blessing for his son to be wed to Bunnie Rabbot.

Then in 'For A Friend', Espio the Chameleon infiltrates 'Golden Hive Castle' which is now a base for Eggman, and plans to destroy it.

Chapter 3 is the story entitled 'Comings and Goings', after obtaining a Chaos Emerald from the panda god; Feist in Z'Own in order to aid the former king Maximillion Acorn, Merlin Prowler then uses it to send himself, Tails, Sonic and Knuckles to the world of Argentum to retrieve Tails' missing parents; Amadeus and Rosemary in this heart-warming tale.

Chapter 4 is another main chapter and a short story. First in 'I Am', Shadow demands that Eggman and Snively hand over a data CD to him that could reveal more about his past. After retrieving the disk, he enlists the help of the Freedom Fighters and their computer N.I.C.O.L.E. to see what data it contains. Inside was the diary of Gerald Robotnik and comes close to knowing everything about his origins, but the disc's data was partially corrupted. He then helps Sonic and friends deal with Snively who wants to pay Shadow back for stealing his last remaining hairs.

Then in 'Enforcers', the Destructix are protecting Angel Island; all the orders of the mysterious echidna; Dr. Finitevus. Who only wants a Warp Ring from Knuckles' father; Locke in return or his services for a mysterious purpose.

Chapter 5 begins with 'Truth of the Heart' where soon after having to deal with Amy, Fiona Fox soon switches sides and leaves the Freedom Fighters to be with Scourge the Hedgehog.

Then in 'Worth The Effort', Amy gets some battle practice in with Julie-Su which soon turns to girl talk as Amy desires to become the best female Freedom Fighter so that Sonic will finally notice her.

Then there are profile pages on Scourge the Hedgehog and Fiona Fox.

Overall another set of great stories and the artwork here is more consistent and has vastly improved to become some of the best I've seen, as I've slowly become more and more off a fan of the trio of Flynn, Yardley and Amash who work VERY well together I must say.

The only complaint I have is that I wasn't too fond off the art style for 'Courage and Honour', as moving as the story was, it could have been a bit better. But that shouldn't dis-courage readers from getting this book. You really do get a lot from it, though I suggest getting this series in order, so you won't be too confused by the events that happen in these books. Otherwise, I fully recommend this for Sonic fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Anonymous Strikes!, 30 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The Sonic Saga Series is a series of trade paperbacks that hosts very recent stories from the Archie's Sonic the Comic.

The first volume mostly tells the story of a being called Anonymous who is using some of Mobius' toughest villains to fully achieve it's mysterious goals.

Chapter 1 is the start of a three part story called 'The Darkest Storm' (Hence the name of this book) and Part 1 is entitled 'The Gathering Tempest', soon after Sonic declines an offer of knighthood by King Elias Acorn and Tails is re-united with his uncle Merlin; The Destructix; a team of furry mercenaries, attack the Freedom Fighters hoping to capture Merlin's Chaos Emerald where the villain; Mammoth Mogul is imprisoned. The Freedom Fighters soon discover that a powerful sword and crown must be re-united to help the Ancient Walkers who are acting as a seal on Merlin's Chaos Emerald to keep him imprisoned within it. Some mysterious monkey like ninjas then attack New Megaopolis and freed the sword, thus destroying the Ancient Walkers and the Chaos Emerald and freeing Mogul.

Chapter 2 is Part 2 entitled 'Onset of the Squall', while the Freedom Fighters deal with Mogul who has the magical crown in his possession, Eggman (Robotnik) deals with Ixis Naugus; another enemy of the Freedom Fighters who sent the ninjas after the sword. Soon Ixis finds his way to Knothole, while Mogul frees the Destructix and an all out brawl ensures between them and the Freedom Fighters. Meanwhile Eggman's computer A.D.A.M. has convinced him that his mechanical daughter Mecha (or M for short) is a traitor to his cause and has her destroyed, before Mogul and Ixis team up when they realise they are part of the same Dark Order and unites the crown with the sword.

Chapter 3 is Part 3 entitled 'Downburst', the Freedom Fighters continue to struggle against the evil forces, but one Freedom Fighter is determined to make the ultimate sacrifice to destroy the dark energy. Soon Eggman joins the battle but catches everyone but the Freedom Fighters as he deems them to be the greater threat and plans to use their life force for his diabolical Egg Grapes.

Chapter 4 is more or less a series of short stories to rap up this book.

First in 'Leak', Rogue the Bat is being questioned by Team Chaotix and Knuckles, while Scourge the Hedgehog and Sleuth Dawg of the Destructix attacks Sonic, Tails and Fiona Fox wanting a Warp Ring back that Rogue stole.

Then in 'Call of Duty', Knuckles has an argument with his father about leaving the Freedom Fighters and returning to Angel Island.

Next in 'The Chaotix Connection', another enemy; Renfield T. Rodent, is opening a casino filled with hypnotic slot machines and the president of Station Square sends Team Chaotix in to investigate.

Then in 'Ties That Bind', Eggman's nephew Snively comes into contact with his uncle and after having a few last words with his sister; Hope Kintobor, he plans to betray the Freedom Fighters.

And then finally a comedic strip called 'Hedgehog Day', where Sonic keeps having a recurring dream that he misses out on his own Birthday celebrations and not only that but has got some members o the press to deal with too. Will he ever be there to enjoy his Birthday celebrations? :D

Finally there's some info pages on Sonic himself, Mammoth Mogul, the Destrictix and Ixis Naugus.

The artwork in this book is great, though I will admit some of these stories like the first one seem to make the characters appear quite anime-esque in design and a tad off from being perfect, the last strip is very comedic and has an entirely different art style to the main story and a few of the other stories, hence why I gave this book 4 stars, however the artwork is still very colourful and full of life and really helps to tell these stories in great detail. I'd say 'Leak' and 'Ties That Bind' match closest to the awesome current art style that the comics have taken recently. Overall not a bad start to the series, especially with the number of stories that they packed into this one book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saga of the Ultimate Lifeform, 19 Nov 2013

This review is from: Sonic Universe (Paperback)
The first issue of Sonic Universe is action packed with great stories and superb artwork from Archie's recent dream team of Flynn, Yardley and Amash and is a real delight for Sonic fans. I really enjoyed both the storylines and the beautiful artwork in this issue, dedicated to stories featuring the 'Ultimate Lifeform'; Shadow the Hedgehog.

The first story; 'Living Weapons', sees Shadow crossing dimensions while fighting Metal Sonic and winds up in the world of Blaze the Cat, where she and Marine the Raccoon assist Shadow when Metal Sonic attacks a nearby sea port.

The second story; 'Time and Again', sees Shadow teaming up with Sonic and Rogue the Bat as they infiltrate an observatory which Robotnik has turned into a place to house a powerful beam weapon. While on the mission; Shadow remembers other several missions which had occurred in the past.

The third story; 'Old Soldiers', sees Shadow try to convince E-102-Gamma to join the G.U.N. organisation, but both are soon attacked by E-123-Omega, sent by Robotnik to destroy Gamma. The result of the battle is sure to shock a few readers, but I won't reveal spoilers. ;)

The fourth story; 'The Ultimate Lifeform', sees Shadow leading Team Dark into the Special Zone to try and out-wit the panda god; Feist and attempt to gain a Chaos Emerald for G.U.N. Though his first attempt failed, a pick me up talk by Hope Kintobor, the resident techno genius at G.U.N., manages to perk Shadow up in a very touching scene.

The book also contains a few Off Panel shorts and some profile pages on Shadow the Hedgehog, Blaze the Cat and her world, the Kintobor Lineage, a look at the Metal Sonic series, profiles for Team Dark, Hope Kintobor, G.U.N. and it's commander; Abraham Tower, Rogue the Bat and Gamma and Omega.

Overall, a great book, superb stories and the artwork is just amazing. I can't phrase this book enough, defenately buy it if you're a Sonic fan or at least a fan of Shadow the Hedgehog. ;)

Sonic The Hedgehog Select Volume 1 (Sonic Select)
Sonic The Hedgehog Select Volume 1 (Sonic Select)
by Dave Manak
Edition: Paperback
Price: 8.99

5.0 out of 5 stars So It Starts...Sonic Selects Sonic Specials, 15 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
The very first issue of Sonic Select takes a few of the Sonic Special issues from the mid 90's and re-prints select stories from those issues. So please note; although the cover has more recent designs of the characters, the artwork in these comics comes straight from the 90's, but I personally have gotten used to the artwork change, but still I thought it be best to warn people, in case they were expecting more recent Sonic stories. The specials and the stories included in this book are as follows;

From the 'Sonic: In Your Face' special;

1. The Quest; Sally Acorn, Sonic and the other Freedom Fighters embark on a quest to retrieve a mysterious treasure and at the same time the reader discovers NICOLE's origin. Followed by a double poster.

2. The Mirror Zone; Sonic and Tails do battle against Robotnik's Swatbots in the Mirror Zone, note that a mirror IS required to read the backwards text.

3. Tails' Tallest Tale; Tails' first official solo story where he attends a Sonic Fan Club meeting, but it is soon crashed by Robotnik himself.

From the 'Sonic and Knuckles' special (loosely based on the Mega Drive/Genesis game);

4. Panic In The Sky; a two-parter where Sonic and Tails venture fourth to the Floating Island and team up with Knuckles when the island is mysteriously heading towards the Freedom Fighters home of Knothole, loaded with weapons.

5. Fire Drill; Knuckles does battle against an unknown foe in the Sandopolis Zone on the Floating Island.

6. Lord of the Floating Island; Knuckles helps out a baby kangaroo find it's mum when a solar eclipse effects the Floating Island's weather patterns.

From the 'Sonic In Triple Trouble' special (loosely based on the Game Gear game);

7. TTTriple TTTrouble; a four parter where Robotnik accidently splits a Chaos Emerald into two and hires Fang/Nack the Weasel in order to find it. Meanwhile both Sonic and Knuckles are each all ready hot on the trail of the broken emerald piecies.

8. Submersible Rehearsal; Tails takes his new submarine the Sea Fox out for a test spin and helps out a seagull when it gets into danger thanks to Robotnik's Octobot. (Note: This story was re-printed again in Sonic Select Book 8, which features more stories about Tails).

9. First Contact; After aiding Vector the Crocodile; Knuckles attempts to find a mysterious being called 'Archimedes' and tries to discover their true identity.

And from the 'Sonic Live!' special;

10. The Substitute Freedom Fighters; When Sally and the other Freedom Fighters get captured by Robotnik; Larry Lynx bands together a secondary group of Freedom Fighters to come to their aid.

Overall for it's price you're getting 10 stories all together, so it's not too bad in that regard. Just be aware that maybe one or two stories may be re-printed in other books, especially if like me you started collecting them at a later point in the print run first, but each book should bring something unique to the table regardless. Overall this I quite a good start to the Sonic Select series, given the amount of stories they packed into this book. Defenately recommended if you're a Sonic fan, but defenately if you're a Knuckles fan, seeing as though there are plenty of Knuckles related stories in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Saga of Sally Acorn, 1 Nov 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Sonic Select (Paperback)
Sonic Select: Issue 7, is packed with stories featuring Sally Acorn, including a three issue mini-series, entirely dedicated to her.

The artwork comes from different eras, with the Sally mini-series being the earliest as well as the most prominent story in this book. Despite it's age though, the artwork is superb and helps to tell a great story, there is even a more recent story added to this volume as well, so it all looks marvellous, despite the difference in the artwork.

The most prominent of these stories is the Sally Acorn mini-series; 'Deadliest of the Species'. After a short introduction to the mini-series, which introduced us to Geoffrey St. John; a skunk who is leading a revel underground against Robotnik, while they both destroy an energy substation that is supposed to provide the Freedom Fighters with a way to invade Robotropolis and take down Robotnik. As the story begins, we see Sally is with a group of young Freedom Fighters of whom are being trained by Sally, as Geoffrey joins their ranks. However the group dis-trusts him, especially a pig called Hamlin who distrusts him from the start, as soon as Geoffrey attacked him when they first meet up. Though they may have a right to be suspicious as Geoffrey keeps disappearing into a secret laboratory. Who's side is he on, well you have to read to find out for yourselves. ;) Sorry I don't want to reveal spoilers just in case. :)

The story that follows comes from the Knuckles: The Echidna spin off called 'My Special Friend', where Sally travels to the Floating Island to seek help from Knuckles and his people the Echidnas against the threat of Robo Robotnik, while being concerned that her father; King Acorn is keeping many secrets from her. However this puts Knuckles in a difficult position, should he give up Echidna tradition to help his long time friend or not?

The last story sees Sonic and Sally 'trying' to go on a quiet date together in 'The World Can Wait', this follows on from Sonic Universe: Volume 4, Journey to the East, so the artwork is the same as the recent Sonic Universe and Sonic Saga Series books. So not to worry; Sonic does appear in this collection, despite it's focus on Sally.

A nice little collection of short stories which I'm sure will defenately please fans of Sally Acorn. Pick it up and check it out if you are. Another superb job from Archie Comics. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars The Tales of Tails, 12 Oct 2013
This review is from: Sonic Select, Book 8 (Paperback)
I said that I was tempted to buy this after reading Sonic Universe no.5 'The Tails Adventure' and so I did.

Sonic Select Book 8 features selected stories featuring Sonic's two tailed sidekick Tails. The book includes a few short stories and a 3 issue mini-series published by Archie and it even includes the original covers for that story. The book also contains a few 'Behind The Scenes' pages about Tails, which just gives you the basics about the character. The artwork of the book is very much like the old Archie Comics throughout, with the exception of the last story which was more recent, regardless each of these stories revolves around Tails and has plot points that connect each o these stories to one another.

The first story is a solo story featuring Tails called "Submersible Rehearsal", which comes from the Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble comic, this also features the full colour front cover of that particular comic as well. In this story, Tails takes his new Sea Fox submarine vehicle, made by Rotor Walrus for a test drive on his own and while doing so encounters Octobot.

The second story is a two-parter called "Growing Pains", where Tails takes his Sea Fox to a island, where he encounters a fox called Fiona and the two seemingly fall head over heels in love, however unaware to poor Tails that she is in fact one of Dr. Robotnik/Eggman's robots and poor Tails had fallen into a trap of his. You'll have to read the book to see how he gets himself out of this mess. ;)

The third story makes up most of this book as it's the 3 part Tails mini-series entitled "Southern Crossover", where once again willing to prove himself to be a proper Freedom Fighter; Tails takes his Sea Fox out to sea once more and with the help of a list he obtained in the last story, he encounters a plot of Robotnik/Eggman's to send a large arsenal of weapons to Crocbot; an Underboss that the large doctor created so that he can conquer Mobius' southern hemisphere known as 'Downunda', unaware that Crocbot plans to betray him. During his travels; Tails encounters new friends such as Forty Fathoms Freedom Fighters; which consists of sea life to the Downunda Freedom Fighters; which consists of Australian wildlife and a mysterious Echidna called Athair; who explains to Tails that he is the 'Chosen One'. While all this is going on, Tails is also concentrating on making his own comic featuring; Captain Super FoX-Man. Tails soon joins with the Downunda Freedom Fighters to rescue their captured comrade; Wombat Stu and to try and stop Crocbot from creating a powerfull armada big enough to take over Downunda and all of Mobius. But why has Tails been told that he is the Chosen One? Well that can be answered in the next story.

The fourth and final story is another two-parter called "The Chosen One", Zonic the Zone Cop who keeps an eye on the various multi-verses that exists, asks Tails for his help and Sonic decides to come along too, after he interrupts their game of hide and seek. The powerfull being Mammoth Mogul has used Chaos Power to destroy multiple universes and time seems to be running out. Soon Tails must achieve his destiny and join forces with other multiple versions of himself to stop Mogul from his dastardly plains.

Overall I do recommend this book to fans of the Archie Sonic comics, in-particular some of their early work or if you're just a big fan of Sonic's two tailed sidekick. A nice little selection of stories. It just makes me think why Archie hasn't done a Tails spin off comic yet, like they did with Knuckles? :D
