5.0 out of 5 stars Defiantly worth it!!!! Snake Snake......Snaaaaaaake!, 13 April 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Had a good idea what to expect reading and watching the various online info on the build up to release. I would highly recommend the purchase, it was the first proper test for my ps4. Graphically stunning, gameplay is superb many different unlockables and trophies require multiple play throughs. Don't worry about the short completion, there is a lot of talk about how short the game is, I have been playing it now since release totalling around 30hrs and only have a completion ratio of 34%. The stealth gameplay won't be to everyone's taste however at the price it's a steal!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic journey into the familiar and yet so unknown! Buy it!, 25 April 2012

Wonders totally blew me away when it was on the telly, I've always has an interest in everything astronomical and this explains in easy terms what's going on out there and how everything is connected in fascinating ways. Loved watching this and I would highly recommend this bluray for a greater understanding of our close planetary neighbours and moons to anyone with even a slight interest.

1. "Empire of the Sun"
The first episode illustrates how the formation and behaviour of the Sun affects each planet in the Solar System. During this episode, Cox visits India to view and explain the workings of a total solar eclipse. The Aurora Borealis is also seen in Norway and an explanation of the power of the Sun occurs in Death Valley, California, USA.

2. "Order Out of Chaos"
Cox starts this episode in Al-Qayrawan, Tunisia to analyse the orbit of the planets around our Sun, with details on how the tilt of the Earth creates the seasons. He also visits the Atlas Mountains and provides an explanation of the how we see the orbit of Mars. This episode also provides an insight on the rings of Saturn and the geysers of Enceladus, including images shown as seen from the Cassini-Huygens space probe.

3. "The Thin Blue Line"
The third episode looks at the atmosphere of the planets and moons of the Solar System, with Earth, Mars, and Titan being the main focus. The episode starts with Cox taking a journey in an English Electric Lightning piloted by "Mike Beachy Head" up to an altitude "between 55 and 60 thousand feet" where the "thinness and fragility" of the atmosphere could be observed in the middle of the day transitioning "from light blue to dark blue to black". Later, the Namib Desert is seen and used to give an explanation on how the Earth keeps its temperature, along with comparisons made to Mars. An in-depth look at Titan is seen with footage shown from the Huygens probe descent down to the surface of the moon.

4. "Dead or Alive"
The fourth episode begins at the Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA, and immediate comparisons are drawn to Mars and the Valles Marineris. A trip to Kîlauea on Hawaii shows the geological activity of Earth, and again a comparison to Mars and Olympus Mons is seen. An analysis of Jupiter's gravitational effect is given with how it could potentially send an asteroid on a collision course with Earth. The same gravitational force is also shown to give the Jovian moon Io geological life.

5. "Aliens"
The final instalment covers life surviving in extreme environments, and how the search for life on other worlds follows the search for water, focusing on Mars, and on Jupiter's moon Europa. Cox begins by travelling to the deep ocean to draw comparisons between space travel. The Atacama Desert in South America is also viewed, which is seen to explain the lack of life found there. A trip to the Scablands in North-West America is also made with an explanation of the Missoula Floods that once occurred there, and how it shaped the landscape geologically. More examinations of life come with a trip to Mexico and how life survives in caves.

All in all a mesmerising journey presently beautifully in bluray format with stunning 5.1 truehd audio.

Great value for money, go for it.

Saw Keane live back at T in the Park a couple of years ago when Blur were supposed to be headlining but took ages to get on stage for whatever reason. Our group decided to give blur the finger and head off to see Keane instead and so glad we did! Fantastic live band in chilled sort of way, perfect to top off the weekend.

On the back of seeing them live was looking forward to this arriving, delivery was very fast too. Ordered Monday received Wednesday. Bluray doesn't disappoint sound quality is great visuals good too, played no problem on my UK PlayStation slim.

Good special features too.

For anyone who is a Keane fan this is a must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seagull-tastic, 19 April 2012

This review is from: Seagull (Toy)
Was out on a windy day a few weeks back with the boy and thought.... you know what would be good right now.... a kite. We both went online and picked out this seagull kite or 'Bob' as he is now known.

Ordered on the Sunday night and it arrived Thursday, slightly larger package than your standard mail so we knew what it was. Unfortunatly we had to wait until the weekend to take Bob out for a go as it wasn't very windy. Excellent fun though when all sorted, easy to put together and supplied in a heavy duty bag to put back into again when done.

Bob flies really well and fooled a couple of young segulls as they came in for a look at him lol. Great value for money and good fun too, highly recommended purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Concert Highly Recommended!!!!!!, 19 April 2012

Well what can I say.....Greenday not a band I would normally go for however been after a good music blu-ray for a while. The missis also likes them to went for it.

Absolutly superb purchase, we were bopping our heads away and shouting along with the fans too. Sound quality is stunning, highly enjoyable with the volume turned up. Visuals are good too.

A note of warning though, the initial top menu screen has extremly loud music on it so keep the volume down until you 'play all' - I didn't and almost gave birth.

As mentioned earlier not really a fan as such but I have to say I really enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars X-Men 1st Class!!!!! - Amazing Movie - Buy it!!!!, 16 Feb. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
First of all... great movie, superb acting amazing special effects culminating in an alternate history on what happened during the Cuba Missile Crisis. Superb! Bring it on!

McAvoy and Fassbender are brilliant in portraying the initial early friendship of Magneto and Professor X and for me make this movie what it is. Absolutely fantastic, the younger actors are also very good too, and there are some superb cameo's so watch out for.

Sebastian Shaw played by Kevin Bacon was also fantastic although, not too give too much away, my only small gripe was I wanted much, much more to happen with this character in the story and felt a bit unsatisfied and disappointed when it didn't happen, but that's just me.

The story escalates really well and it's a thrilling journey from start to finish. Blu-ray credentials ticked all the way on visuals and audio quality, stunning. Special effects/cgi is great too.

The SR-71 Blackbird, my favourite aircraft of all time, on screen in high-def looks sumptuous.

All in all one of those movies that totally engages the viewer and you just don't want to end. At just over 2hours, the time fly's by and would have loved at least another hour, but again that's just me. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Go Speed Racer Go!!! - Absolute mind blowing fun!!!, 15 Feb. 2012
Looking for a movie the kids would enjoy over the weekend and stumbled across this absolute gem! Great fun and they loved it!

This was one of those movies when I heard they were making it and being directed by none other than the Wachowski Brothers I thought 'oh no' how the mighty have fallen and I think a lot of people fell into that trap. Don't! give it a chance and you won't be sorry for the purchase, great value too.

My personal favourite character in this is the bad guy from Royalton Industries, Mr Royalton played by Roger Allam. His monologues are reminiscent of Agent Smiths from the Matrix; absolutely engrossing intergalactic slapping's from above to destroy your soul, nice. And the similarities don't end there, special effects are off the chart and give you the feeling of being inside a comic book, this movie isn't based in reality what so ever and entirely better for it.

I'm on the third watch now with my son and we always find ourselves shouting at the telly 'Go Speed Racer Go!!!!' it's full of fun that all the family will enjoy, don't be put off by negative reviews some people just don't get this sort of movie.

Just accept it for what it is and enjoy the ride!
10/10 to the Wachowski Brothers! Bring it on!

A must have for sure! Bargin!

Once you get into it you can't stop watching the movies until you're done! They are great family movies that always give us a good Christmassy feeling everytime we pop one on.

The standard box set release is fantastic value for money; as soon as we saw this online it was in the basket straight away. Job done!

Blu-ray quality is great, especially the sound which is so detailed. Packed full of special features too it will keep you going for ages until you're a Harry Potter trivia master.

Buy it, excellent addition to the collection for sure!

I had never heard of this comic book anti-hero before but don't let that put you off, this movie is a spectacular occult extravaganza! Go for it!

The original movie was very good too but the second instalment I found much better, the actors seem more at ease within their roles somehow, can't quite place it but it just feels better all round...

The intro is great, building the story with young hellboy eagerly listening to Fathers bed time story of the Golden Army, brilliant. Watched this with my son and he loves this movie but there are some more intense sense so if you're a parent you might want to give it a watch first just in case.

Blu-ray credentials are amazing, picture is crisp and detailed. Sound is perfect, pump up the volume and warn the neighbours. If you're looking for something different I would highly recommend this wholeheartedly.

A fantastic additional to any collection.
