Managing Innovation: Integrating Technological, Market and Organizational Change
Price: £39.35

4.0 out of 5 stars Great comprehensive overview of innovation management, 17 Nov. 2013

Found this book useful from both a post grad student perspective as it summarises the main theories in innovation management and also as an industry practitioner - lots of frameworks that I can see being helpful in my day job too.

The other aspect I like are the external references and case studies.

I enjoyed this summary analysis of user involvement in innovation. It makes a lot of sense to me. The book is easy to read despite being oriented towards the academic community. Will recommend to a few of my colleagues as I can see lessons we can learn within our business.

Easy to read and great analysis of competitive strategy for innovation. Some of the examples need refreshing / showing the book's age but still help in making the point.

Although to a layman, some of the book may be quite hard going, the content is excellent and contains lots of dimensions against which to think about innovation, the market environment, and capabilities.

3.0 out of 5 stars Liked the reframing of the competitive landscape, 20 May 2013

Interesting view with plenty to take away. Lots of useful models. I find the value innovation map a little too simple / open to subjectivity. It could lead to blind spots if competitor analysis is not thorough. Like all tools - easier to create in hindsight. Would like to understand more about the underlying research. Oh, and if I read another case study on Southwest Airlines I might go mad! :-)
