What a fabulous little book, so well written by the author. It has given me so much information on sites in the UK, what to look for and when.
Covers alomost every uk bird whether in the garden, by the sea or on a woodland walk. It will be a constant companion

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitive Guide, 4 Dec 2010
Without a doubt the best book I have ever read on Birds of Prey. Each species is treated individually and the book charts the decline, hazzards they have faced and re-introduction or conservation.
Usually I would skim over a lot of the text but found this book to be so interesting I read every word.
The author has a way of pulling you in to a greater understanding of these magnificent birds and the photographs are amazing
A wonderful book and thoroughly recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Just what a novice needs, 2 Sep 2010
I found this book really helpful being a novice to photography. It is written in down to earth terms without the usual technical terms that only professionals would understand. The illustrations are brilliant showing results with small bridge cameras and the higher end too. It explains clearly what aperture achieves and how to do it. Tips on lighting and so much more.
If you are new to photography and don't wish to talked down to then this is the book for you. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and keep referring to it for understandable tips
Well done the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant read and reference, 19 July 2010
I cannot understand the negative comment placed on this book. I have found the book to absorbing interesting and factual. I have a vast collection WWII Lancaster books and this leaves most of them standing. An amazing amount of research has gone into the book and I am very happy to have paid 60 It is worth every penny

1.0 out of 5 stars Biggest disappointment ever, 2 Dec 2008
This book should be called what I got up to during the war. Very little aviation information or factual flying experiences and is more about where he went and what pubs he frequented and what high jinx they got up to. Just pays lip service to raids. The most disappointing book I have ever read and needs to be in the biography section not aviation history

One of the most comprehensive accounts of the Lancaster to date.
Some excellent photographs, where they all are now and how they got there
I have read many books on the Lancaster and this is one of the best
