Papo - Stegosaurus
Papo - Stegosaurus
Offered by Great Gifts and Toys
Price: £8.70

4.0 out of 5 stars photo doesn't do it justice, 13 Nov 2006
This review is from: Papo - Stegosaurus (Toy)
A good model Steg, with a great facial expression and nice lustre to the paint on his spikes. Much better than the lurid dinos that are one can find. A good size and weight - scientists say that at the end of the dinosaur reign, there were pretty much only Tyranosauruses & Stegosauruses left, and at you can imagine how Stegs like this one might have stood up to the old T-Rex.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent version of Dickens' classic story for young readers, 13 Nov 2006
This is a simplification, but very well done, of Dickens' Christmas story, and one children will love. The ghosts are scary, but not too much, and they will of course warm to all the characters. The illustrations - one on every page - are very well done, and the combination of normal text with cartoon "balloons" is very effective. An ideal book for leading up to Christmas for children who have been reading for about a year - read the book with them first and then watch the film, whether it's the one with Alistair Sim or the Muppets version!

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware - a creationist book, 18 Oct 2006
According to your own personal beliefs, you may or may not approve of this book: here is part of what the publisher says: "The author provides a thoroughly biblical analysis of them as well, insisting that these "dragons of the sea" came into existence during the creation week as outlined in Genesis"

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great story about Winnie, 24 Sep 2006
This review is from: Winnie At The Seaside (Hardcover)
All the "joys" of the seaside: Winnie loves the crowded beach but Wilbur doesn't, but even a great wave can subdue Winnie's enthusiasm.

The drawings are wonderful - spot the characters in the crowd that are from previous Winnie stories - with lots of great detail to talk about

A great story to get out after the holidays when the everyone is back home.

Bob The Builder Friction Travis

5.0 out of 5 stars Robust, and just the right size for little hands, 16 May 2006
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
My 3-year old, a Bob the Builder fanatic, loves this. It can whizz along at a good speed, but (thankfully) the friction wheels do not make too much noise.

Travis has already had a fair bit of bashing, and gone into the bath, all without mishap. The funnel goes up and down as it goes along, which is, for him, a big bonus!

4.0 out of 5 stars not much text, lots of photos, 30 Mar 2006
This review is from: Aircraft Interiors (Hardcover)
Great for the student of interior design in general and aircraft cabin design in particular. 100s of photos, many with the little details that count so much. The book covers the major designers and their work on the main aircraft (up to and including the A380 & B787), for a broad group of airlines from all continents. Ver complete

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent comprehensive reference - perfect for students, 31 Mar 2005
This book is like having your old English teacher at your side to comment on words you have difficulties with. - For any word in Shakespeare it gives the possible different meeanings and quotes the play(s) in which the word is used.

The book has lots of other useful features including a complete list of all characters' names, explanations of the references to classical mythology, geographical locations and 6* go to the synopses of each play with the diagrams of the characters.

It is a perfect companion for any Shakespeare lover.
