5.0 out of 5 stars A superb live performance from Christy and Declan, 30 May 2009
This review is from: Live From Dublin 2006 (Audio CD)
Other reviewers have gone into great detail about this performance so I'll keep this simple. Christy seems to absolutely thrive in a live environment and this is a superb performance containing a lot of familiar songs. Such passion in his singing and after all these years, he's still in top form.
He's one of the great live performers and Declan Sinnott is just the perfect
accompanist. His guitar on Ride On always hits the spot and nearly brings a tear to my eye. I wholeheartedly recommend these 35 songs with no reservations whatsoever. Just buy it and revel in a great man at his best.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not one of Kate's best, 31 Dec 2008

I was very disappointed on hearing this and remained so with repeated plays.
As someone commented previously, the tunes are weak and even the marvellous melodies of "Hark the Herald" and "The Holly and the Ivy", have been replaced by Kate's own melodies. All the tracks sound similar and are just
monotonous. For anyone new to Kate Rusby, don't buy this, buy Little Lights instead which has the brilliant "Let the cold wind blow".

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD by exceptional guitarist, 19 Oct 2008

Like a lot of people, I first saw Buddy on John Mayall's 70th birthday bash
and was impressed by his technique and passion. I've been playing this CD for weeks now and would recommend it highly. There's a lot of great guitar playing, very much in the Stevie Ray vein and a set of catchy songs with one instrumental Greenwood which is well-constructed and beautifully played.
The guy is just the best around in the rock/blues genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars Get your feet tapping to one of the world's best guitarists., 18 Jun 2006

Having followed Albert since the early 70s days of Head, Hands and Feet through Emmylou's Hot Band, I find that Albert's playing just gets better and better. He's probably turned 60 now but his playing is staggeringly good especially on the tracks Working on Love and Payola Blues. The mood of the CD is mainly infectious toe-tapping music to make you smile it's that good. A couple of ballads are included to slow down the pace and these work very well. These are Jimmy Webb's The Moon's a Harsh Mistress and Richard Thompson's The Dimming of the Day.
<br />All in all, a marvellous CD from a world class guitarist who unfortunately not many people have heard of. There's also some good pedal steel guitar from Buddy Miller.
