Reason, Faith, and Revolution: Reflections on the God Debate (Terry Lectures) (The Terry Lectures)
Reason, Faith, and Revolution: Reflections on the God Debate (Terry Lectures) (The Terry Lectures)
by Terry Eagleton
Edition: Paperback
Price: 7.69

2.0 out of 5 stars Attacking "Ditchins", 20 Mar 2014
Eagleton seems to be annoyed by the fact that Hitchens was a gifted orator and Dawkins claims to find happiness in science and facts. Much energy is spent giving negative personal statements on "Ditchins", a term obviously ment for ridicule. Eagleton is also trying to construct a revolutionary Christianity by removing most of the negative aspects of religion, the ones that "Ditchins" focuses on, using only the "cozy" parts of the Bible, those that we unbelievers call human values. If Eagleton had lived in the old Greece, he would probably also rejected Socrates on basis of his eloquence.

2.0 out of 5 stars Important material, lousy production, 21 July 2010
Fairly traditional, still shocking archive material. Program tries to question the moral of the bombings without really bringing any understanding into it. Editing is little beyond what most people can do on their home computer. Audio mix is terrible, commentarys being drowned by explotion sounds and a music score taken from licens free synth "music"? Most annoying to the point that you want to turn off the audio. The story of Dresden is much to important for low budget productions like this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb recording, 11 April 2003
This review is from: Orphee & Eurydice (Audio CD)
This recording is very lively, played with great sense of rhythm and a joyous interpretation. The instruments sound distinct and delicate, and the singers do a great job. Warmly recommended!
