5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning book, 31 July 2012
Even if you've never been to the Althorp Estate, last resting place of Diana Princess of Wales, this stunning book will fascinate. The theme is the current Earl Spencer's work to update and maintain the Estate over the last 20 years - but he also talks about his incredible ancestors, his favourite spots in the house and grounds and about the privilege and challenge it is to be custodian of such a home. The glorious photos bring the book to vibrant life and include 'behind the scenes' shots of areas not open to the public. Althorp is graced with some beautiful art and objects, which you can now see in fabulous detail. Altogether, it's a must for visitors, anyone interested in the family and Diana fans - it's very reasonably priced too.

5.0 out of 5 stars A necessary evil..., 18 Oct 2004
...not the book, but the glorious Tube, I hasten to add! We moan about it, suffer the delays and crowding and wait in fear for those fare increases but we really couldn't do without it. What better way to make it more bearable than to uncover the funny side of travelling by tube? Mecca Ibrahim's research is impressive and the many anecdotes she has collected here will raise smiles of recognition from any Londoner. The images are great too, and you'll learn loads about this most berated method of transport. The perfect gift for those who start their morning in the office fuming 'You'll never believe what happened to me on the way in...'
