Simply brilliant. Great characters and narration. Disappointed when it ended. A sequel? Great read. Historical fiction at its best. Enough said.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the easiest to assemble, 9 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This is a very solid bed. However, it is not the easiest to assemble given the instructions are not clear (2 small double sided pages) and some parts were not accurately machined (for example; 1. bold holes on one leg were not properly aligned; 2. one screw for each the wheels requires an incredibly small screwdriver to get proper access behind a bracket, 3. the wooden slates were not uniformed, one was not long enough to properly use). Frustrating and took much longer than expected, but got there in the end with a little of DIY woodwork.

In addition to being very funny and well written in a diary format, this book is packed with practical information, useful tips and helps translate much of the medical jargon. Hearing me laugh while reading it, my wife became jealous as she struggled with the textbook style pregnancy books - in the end she read the book as well and really enjoyed it. I've worked my way through a few of these `dad-to-be' styled books - this by far is the very best.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor, 10 Oct. 2007
This review is from: Fatherhood: The Truth (Paperback)
Try to avoid. I have read a number of expectant dad books - this book by comparison was poor. Not overly funny, light on practical information and generally a tedious read. If you are looking for practical insight and useful information presented in a humorous and light hearted way, I would strongly recommend `From Here to Paternity - The Diary of a Pregnant Man'.
