5.0 out of 5 stars Follow your dreams!, 13 July 2012
Great book filled with wisdom and poetry about finding happiness within. It is the journey that is the real gift and not the destination. Santiago grows mentally and spiritually and finds himself and the pot of gold. The treasure is within. He needed only to be mature to know that.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating novel!, 13 July 2012
This is a fascinating and poignant novel about a doomed love affair between two characters, Oki and Otoko, that triggers fatal consequences for them both. In spite of his love, Oki has to leave Otaka after the death of their premature child and her breakdown. Twenty years after this event, he decides to meet her again, but this time, he has to meet Keiko too, Otoko's lover, who wants to seek revenge against him for having treated Otoko so badly many years ago.
This is a beautiful poetic story about passion and revenge and the complexity of human characters and relations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very uplifting and inspirational!!, 13 Aug 2010
This review is from: Fairytales for Femmes (Paperback)
"Fairytales for femmes" is an adequate title for a charming collection of seven short stories about women looking for love and getting it at the end in spite of the diverse obstacles that they encounter on their paths.

In "The Love of my Life", an unhappy heiress is looking for the ultimate sexual experience in order to repress the memories of a cruel and unhappy childhood.
In "The Event", Vilja, a young woman from another galaxy, is passionately in love with the female ruler of a patriarchal colony. She puts her life at stake by replacing her brother and participating in a cruel Event in order to be close to her beloved.
In "Pink Magic", the self-confident young woman, Mona, is secretly in love with her best friend, Selebrity, but finds it very difficult to reveal her feelings.
In "The Beholder", the god child of a goddess and the patient at a psychiatric clinic, She-Hera Zade, is in love with her psychiatrist.
In "One Ticket to Always", Raven has been many years in love with her brother's wife.
In "Date night, right?", Dwynwen, a dog lover, falls in love with the famous writer, Mayona Naess, at a reading.
In "The Harmony of the Spheres", a single mother responsible of both her child and her own mother, realizes that she is worthy of love.
The themes are very well-constructed and beautifully-treated. The author is very skilled at setting the scenes, establishing the characters and exploring the dynamics of the different relations. The chemistry between the main characters is also very believable and palpable. The various illustrations are enchanting and fit the magic of the stories.
The readers will be drawn in by the touching romances, the vivid and believable characters, the emotional struggles, the twists and turns and the happy and satisfying endings.
This is a very inspiring and uplifting read and I strongly recommend it!
