5.0 out of 5 stars Practical, Portable, Waterproof, 2 Oct. 2015

It's a waterproof that packs up small, has enough room for jumpers / fleeces underneath, comes down far enough, really does keep you dry and hardly costs anything. What more could you want for the money?

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Looking Shelves - Check Your Rawlplug Sizes., 2 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
They're nice looking shelves for the money, and they fit with just 4 (deep) holes in the wall in a straight line.

The shelves themselves only have one quite weak central attachment, mainly they rely on gravity to keep them on the shelf holder - so don't have them where they're going to be nudged around. Also probably need to keep checking the shelf holders attachment to the vertical on the wall, as they're just held by how tightly they grip a plate behind - and if that loosens they could slip down.

The war story - the instructions say you will need an 8mm masonary drill bit to drill holes in the wall. Don't go and buy one (like we did!) before measuring the rawlplugs provided. Our Rawlplugs were 10mm across and so we needed to get a 10mm bit - after we'd extracted a very battered rawlplug from a much too tight hole.

Otherwise pretty straightforward.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Mount, Great Value - Questionable Fit for Sony Bravia - see comment, 2 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Good solid mount - works nicely when up. Fantastic value for money.

It's a questionable fit for the Sony Bravia 32 - and probably other sizes - the problem is the TV and I think all other swivel and tilt mounts would have the same issue (I looked).
The back of the TV has SCART and other input sockets right between the VESA mounting holes where they are blocked by the plate on this, and as far as I can tell all other swivel and tilt mounts. Sony's recommended mount (their own - naturally - and over £100) is just a static wall fitting, you can't then move the TV. (And even that won't let you access the sockets on the slim-fit option.)

So you can't use a traditional DVD player (I think Blu-ray is OK but I haven't got any Blu-ray DVDs!) or Nintendo WII with the TV using this type of mount. We can connect to the X-Box because there are accessible HDMI sockets.

Invision were willing to give me a refund but we decided to just forget about getting a DVD player.

I think it's a great mount - but if you have a Sony Bravia think about how you want to use it before buying your wall mounting. (Or buy a different TV)

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, Smart, Practical Storage for DVDs., 2 Oct. 2015
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Neat simple solution to storing my DVDs - which fit in nicely in polythene sleeves.
Most DVD storage solutions had you putting your DVDs into pockets in pages - and you'd then have to move take them all out and refile if you wanted to insert a new one into the middle (say if doing alphabetical order.)
For me the simple box is a much more flexible option.
Box arrived flat, put together easily and looks perfectly smart and tidy.

Grand Union Canal Map - Braunston to Kings Langley
by Heron Maps
Edition: Map
Price: £5.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatly Enhanced our Canal Cycling Trip, 4 Sept. 2014
Attractive map with lots of little potted bits of information, all pubs and locks marked, really added to our cycling mid-week break and pub marking was especially helpful in advance planning of where spend the nights.

If you're planning a few days break along the canal this really gives you something over and above just using your road map.

Prince of Secrets (Mills & Boon Modern) (By His Royal Decree, Book 2)
Price: £2.99

5.0 out of 5 stars Quirky, Geeky, Likeable Book, 4 Sept. 2014
I really liked this one. H and h on good terms throughout the book, both are attractive characters and the book is the progress of their relationship - albeit from a morally dubious motivation on his part. Refreshing change - no angst and plenty of quirk!

4.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE - Child's Kindle + LOVEFILM = BIG PROBLEM, 23 Sept. 2013
For your teenager to use LOVEFILM - get an iPad - with a Kindle use NETFLIX! or let them use your credit card. Ridiculous but read on.

OK - The Kindle Fire HD is a lovely bit of kit and my son has loved it BUT......

I bought it for him to use for aps, books and LOVEFILM - pretty much what it's advertised for. He is 15 and should have some autonomy. That's all we're after here.

We set him up an Amazon account without credit card but with gift certificates (fiddly but can be done) - registered his Kindle, he can buy aps and books.

Now LOVEFILM - problem. You can stream LOVEFILM through anything else (if streaming-capable) just fine, but a Kindle will overwrite your LOVEFILM login details with the Kindle's Amazon Account Details. Support Centre told me to do this, wasn't impressed. but it worked and hey - we now just had to use his Amazon ID not mine to log in to LOVEFILM on all devices.

PROBLEM is - it's now against LOVEFILM'S policy as they think he is the account holder - even though it's still paid from my Amazon account - and he is under 18. Not a problem until they notice this, but if your card details change (I cancelled mine when it was lost) you can't reinstate it automatically because the links are tied up, so you need support, they break the link and set it so you can't reinstate it. (Not withstanding that it was their advice in the first place - back when I still had the option of returning the new Kindle!)

LOVEFILM's solution is - you have to register your child's Kindle to your own adult account, complete with credit card! He can now watch LOVEFILM, but if he wants to buy books / aps he has to do so using your credit card. So much for autonomy, and your credit card provider wouldn't be impressed and your finances are mixed together. Yes I trust my son but this doesn't work for either of us.

Why does the Kindle need to do this when X-box, iPad and computer don't ? - No answer.
