Lilliput 569GL-50NP/HO/Y 5" TFT 16:9 LCD Field Monitor HDMI IN & OUT for Full HD Video Camera 1920x1080

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for a DSLR, 11 Nov. 2013

As I get older I've struggled with critical focus using tilt shift lenses on my Canon DSLR! My problem usually arises when the weather is cold and the LCD/spectacles mist up as soon as I get close to the camera. I was toying with the idea of a monitor and was going to opt for the (expensive) Lilliput 7 inch 5DII but it had a lot of features I simply would never use. I opted for the smaller 5 inch 569GL and I'm really glad I did.

Pros:
Superb screen quality
small and lightweight
Easy to use
Excellent screen shade
Uses same LP-E6 batteries as my camera

Cons:
None at the moment

This monitor shows everything that you see on the camera LCD ... just much bigger! Very easy to critically focus using the x5/x10 magnifier option on the camera which shows up crisp and clear on the bigger monitor.
I attach it using the Manfrotto 200PL quick release plate mated to a Manfrotto 492 ball head, this in turn attaches to a small articulated arm and a Manfrotto Super Clamp (035). The clamp attaches to the upper tripod leg.

1.0 out of 5 stars A pity, 23 Oct. 2013

Started off so well ... prompt delivery, excellent quality of finish. Attached it to a Super Clamp and the other end to a micro ball head and the swivel joint snapped off as I tightened it!!
A pity as it looked much better quality than others I have seen ... the search continues!

5.0 out of 5 stars unbelievable, 2 Sept. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Coming from a background of large format and slow speed film emulsions I feel qualified to comment on sharp lenses - a sub-standard lens doesn't cut it on a sheet of 5x7 inch film! Having moved to digital this lens proves that the gap between traditional film and digital imaging has been reached and left far behind. This lens is totally unbelievable in its coverage, degree of resolution, build quality and ease of use.
If I could own just one lens for landscape photography then this is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing software, 28 May 2012
Having spent a great deal of time in wet darkrooms and finally dragged kicking and screaming into the digital age this piece of software has revitalised my monochrome photography. Forget converting to grayscale etc in Photoshop THIS makes (digital) sense of your images and converts them into black and white prints with that "just out of the fixer tray" look. Extremely easy to use for beginners and enough advanced features to keep even the most dedicated user happy for many months. No wonder this is THE industry standard.

The Sonoran Desert: Arizona, California and Mexico
The Sonoran Desert: Arizona, California and Mexico
by Jack Dykinga
Edition: Paperback

5.0 out of 5 stars (Another) visual bombardment of colour and contrasts., 2 Jan. 2001
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
How does Dykinga manage it? Another volume of glorious visual bombardment of colour and contrast, in what most would agree, should be a colourless landscape. His large format images ooze a quality than convince the viewer that they are there in person! Not only can you feel the heat and the sand beneath your feet, on some of the pages you actually feel the cooling desert breeze that brings life to this otherwise barren landscape. The images expertly complement an informative narrative that adds to the splendour of the place.

5.0 out of 5 stars A visual feast , you cannot imagine a desert being vibrant., 10 Oct. 2000
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A sumptuous look at what is, to many, a dry (pun) subject. Dykinga manages to bring the desert alive with his large format images and Bowers' narrative takes you on a journey of every-day miracles as she ventures through this threatened wilderness. This book is a visual feast, you cannot imagine a desert being so awash with vibrant colours and such an abundance of flora and fauna.
