OK, a somewhat unlikely plot and rather long-winded

They looked good, easy to hang and good price. I ordered 14 for a project and only criticism was that mounts were packed separately in last package and I thought they were missing. A little note about this would have been useful.

2.0 out of 5 stars bored of ant-Catholic bias, 24 Dec 2013

Her representation of Catholics bears no resemblance to Catholics in the UK, who are very international, including Italians. Her stories are very predictable and biased in this way. A pity because in most other ways they have likable characters and good plots.

4.0 out of 5 stars Guido Brunetti rides again, 20 Aug 2013

A good story, somewhat marred by the author's personal prejudices! It reminds me that stained-glass windows can only be appreciated from inside a church. They aren't beautiful from the outside but they are from the inside.

A rather uninspiring book about a very inspiring man. A disappointing read - like garlic bread without the garlic, such a pity.

Good plot, entertaining characters and great setting in Sicily. Good antidote to grey and cold English winter. Montalbano is quite addictive.

Price: £3.59

4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and amusing, 13 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
I enjoy these novels, the plots, the characters and the climate. My only criticism is that the Church is generally viewed with the eye of a critical outsider rather than from the viewpoint of an insider, with more understanding of both the flaws and the good points of those concerned. This makes things rather predictable and less interesting.

I like the characters and the plots. It's amusing and it's nice to be transported to sunny Sicily in an English winter!
