Presentation Zen: Simple Ideas on Presentation Design and Delivery (Voices That Matter)
Presentation Zen: Simple Ideas on Presentation Design and Delivery (Voices That Matter)
Price: 11.04

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice summary of some basic rules to follow for more compelling and effective presentations, 7 Sep 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Even though Garr is sometimes unsure whether to write about him self and his passion for Japan or actually the presentation skills, it's still a good resource, especially for those who haven't seen/created anything else than a bunch of poorly designed slides with tons of illegible texts :)

We all can do better and bore the others less ;)

Anyone in the marketing already knew a few of these "how to catch their attention" tricks. But this book goes much further, giving you insight how and why things work that way. Behavior schemes described in the book could be used anywhere, not just on the web. Oh, and it's written in human language, easy to understand and remember for ages. One of the most useful books I have read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting reading, 21 Jun 2012
I'm a kind of innovative guy so new approaches fits me very well. In this book I've found things I already felt and sensed many times before very well described, truth revealing and inspiring. An interesting read it was.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ultimate UX resource!, 21 Jun 2012
This is a "must read" for each and every web designer! I'd also recommend to read this book as a starting point to UX (User Experience) in general. If I could recommend just one book from this area, it will be this one. I love it, my colleagues love it too and you'll love it as well. Read it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Inspirative, sometimes too much :), 21 Jun 2012

Gary likes talking about brand building more than wine he's officially selling, he just don't know about it yet ;-)
I don't agree with his "I need to do everything myself" approach, advertising etc.
However, the book might inspire those who aren't into social media and brand building that much at the moment.

4.0 out of 5 stars A practical UX testing guide that really works!, 21 Jun 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
A very easy to read book about usability testing in practice, actually kind of "How to" manual but even though I was laughing aloud several times while reading it, very well written.
I'd recommend it if you tend to do some usability testing and would like to get a serious advice from Steve, who has more than 20 years of experience in the area.
At the end of the paperback version you will also get 45 days online access to the book on "Safari Books Online".

Anyway, great reading (2 hours) with funny moments inside.

The Chinese Business Puzzle: How to work more effectively with Chinese cultures (Working With Other Cultures)
by Andrew Williamson
Edition: Paperback
Price: 10.96

4.0 out of 5 stars Information rich, 21 Jun 2012

- for those on a long term assignment in China - this is a must read!
- people working with the Chinese from abroad can find some useful hints & tips on how to approach them more effectively
- those who are keen to learn more about Chinese culture and their history should better search in a history book instead

The book is 70% business, 30% real life oriented but everyone, whether it's a diplomat, corporate representative or just occasionally working with the Chinese, will find it useful. Great resource!"

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun & Relax, 21 Aug 2010
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
We had a lot of fun with my 5 and 7 years old nephews watching Shaun doing all those crazy things :-)
Moreover, even my colleagues at work watched all the series and all of us think that it's one of the best animated series we have seen so far, if not the best.
Even for adults it's a lot of fun and a perfect relax after long working hours. Good thing is that it's without any spoken words so it's really multicultural and it really doesn't matter if your are English, Slovak or Swiss.
Definitely worth the money, great job!
