4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing story of a real life hero., 17 Oct 2011
This book shares the most amazing amount of information about Ethiopia, it's history and how the woman in the book strives to help children orphaned by the effects of Aids. The discussion about the possible causes of Aids in Africa and worldwide is very educating, as are the facts about the lack of intervention by the worldwide pharmaceutical industry. Note the name of the book has been changed to 'Orphaned' from original name, which caused some confusion to some in our bookclub.

3.0 out of 5 stars cathar way, 10 May 2011
This was the only book we could find in English to help us on our recent walk of the Cathar Way. The book was invaluable to get us started. Unfortunately it is quite out of date, and the first village where we hoped to stay overnight no longer had any of the three listed accomodation. Luckily a helpful French woman rang a friend who rented us a house for the night. Further on we found there were some serious variations to the route markings, leaving us to virtually rock climb a steep section of the walk while missing out on an area we really wanted to see. While we couldnt have done without the book, we began to take the information less literally towards the end of the trail. The book is also a very good size to take with you, but try and find some more recent information to take with you also.
