Easy to read in one go.
Its a treat for the seasoned Ellroy fan and a good place to dip the toe for a new convert.

Excellant short read about events in Atlantic City.
Covers the period that Boardwalk Empire is currently featuring.
From a breed of mob writer who looks for the facts.
Very interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lost genius, 5 Feb. 2012
This review is from: Singles Anthology (Audio CD)
Vic Goddard was at the forefront of punk with The Subway Sect, touring with The Clash and The Slits.
There take on punk was a differant one.The blueprint for 80's indie was devised by this man (ditto Dan Treacy/Edwyn Collins).
The early singles burn the brightest on initial listen but then subsequent listens reveal further gems along the line.
The turn into swing and becoming a crooner (Holiday hymn/trouble era)is and was a bizarre delight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forgotten gem, 26 Dec. 2011
This review is from: Matinee (Audio CD)
Released in the 90's when music became big and commercial this understated gem slipped through the cracks for many people.
Reminicant of Mazzy Star, the slow stoned desert blues feel are topped of with a voice that deserved to be heard.
Take a chance, you will love this album.
