Joules 3 Pack Tabasco Bamboo Socks

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Bamboo Socks, 8 Jun 2014
If you want some jazzy-looking bamboo socks then, after a browse, you can see for yourself that these have the best design on Amazon at the moment.

They are supremely comfortable and wash the same as cotton socks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bright and garish. Very practical design., 31 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This is a nice bag which, although waterproof is not watertight.
By this I mean it would be fine to use as a mobile compost bag to store one's banana skins, apple cores, used tea bags and the like, but fill with a bunch of grapes and sit on it and there will surely be some leakage at the zip end.

It's more than just a plastic bag with a zip -it is made of a pleasing satin material, has a useful loop with popper to secure it to a belt or pram and has a nice rubbery finger grip on the zip.

A good size for swimming trunks and a small towel. Any more swimming kit and a larger version would better accommodate.

The colour isn't exactly feminine, more metro-man I'd say. Could easily be sported by the men's pond at Hampstead.

Ah! Actually, have you seen the OTHER colours in the range: Bibetta Swim Bag/ Large Wet Bag (Pink)!? They're definitely more girly.

4.0 out of 5 stars A bit like an Indian Peter Pan. Only a bit!, 30 May 2014
A very nice, touching story.

Well played and pleasing on the eye.

Even though the story involves mysticism, the mystical bits are presented very matter-of-fact. A bit like the Japanese fillums like Death Note where the idea of spirits and the like is all completely accepted without any surprise or question.

It's a bit soppy but a good watch if you like that sort of thing. Glad I stumbled upon it.

Reminded me a BIT of Chinese film Aftershock but that's far deeper, more disturbing and without any mystical bits. -I did say only a BIT!

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCEEDS expectation, thus the 5 stars. Sounds Ace. Looks Ace. Long Battery Life., 22 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I've a bunch of Blootoof speakers of varying quality so I can confidently say that this one compares very well.

-->SOUND QUALITY. Music AND speech are transmitted LOUD and CLEAR. I value clarity over bass and this small box delivers. The front drivers deliver a crisp sound with excellent STEREO despite being so close together. They also produse a fair amout of low-mid frequencies on their own, enhanced by the loong oval driver at the rear.

-->LOOKS. Thankfully, the awful Amazon basics logo is nowhere to be seen (who at Amazon thought that 'basics' was an alluring word to aspire to?? At least Classic or Essential don't sound so cheap). The unit is in effect unbranded apart from a sticker underneath. The FINISH is QUALITY with a sort of metallic/granite effect on the panels and the sturdy concave grill as shown in the pics. This looks and feels really nice and is a good weight; nice to carry in your hand while it's switched on and pulsating. Ooer.

-->EASE OF USE. Apart from On-switch, Volume and Next/Previous controls, there's only ONE BUTTON. It connects your Blootoof, answers or rejects your phonecalls (long or short press). Simple and brilliant. When using the Aux minijack input, Bluetooth is automatically disabled.

-->BATTERY LIFE. Took a couple of hours to charge. Have been playing at work continuously, 8 or 9 hours a day for 2 days (the last hour at full pelt) and it's still going. Admittedly, this was using the wired input rather than BT but still representative.

This is a great product and niggles are very minor:
Aux-in disables volume control so source device must be used for loudness.
Tone is more balanced at higher volumes where mid/bass is more apparent.

Speaker placement also effects the sound so you may want to experiment. It would be nice if this came in a velvet case which, with the help of integral wire struts, sprang-up into an exponential horn-shaped tent/stand. What?

Sounds a sight better than the Revo Tower I've had it plugged into.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice cover. Nothing much to learn inside., 15 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
I don't know who Sarah Beeny is but she looks fine on the cover here.
Her very well-fitting top magically matches the cover of the book.

Unfortunately the inside of the book is less inspiring.

These are loads of little jobs that don't really require guidance; one could simply follow the instructions on the packet of whatever you're putting up.

Some of the jobs in the book I've already achieved: fitting roller blinds and between-floorboard insulation. Did I need a book? -No, I followed the manufacturer's instructions.

There are no photographs in the book to illustrate instructions, just basic clip-art style diagrams.

Doesn't really warrant the nice hard back cover.

Maybe useful for someone who really doesn't know which end of a nail to hit, or to give a bit of confidence to someone just considering some light DIY.

I was expecting more, I'm afraid.

3.0 out of 5 stars Seems fussily written. Okay once you get into it., 15 May 2014
This review is from: Love Story (Paperback)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
This isn't a very comfortable read -possibly because it has been translated from French.
-It just doesn't seem to flow very easily or have momentum to the writing style.

Just looking at the shape the words make on some pages, it looks disjointed and the font doesn't help.

Still, there's a good plot and the story builds nicely. There could be more passion though ('juicy bits') and the conclusion isn't the best.

Physically, the pages are of a light pulp so the book is easy to carry around -not too heavy.

An OK read but no Shades of Grey.

4.0 out of 5 stars Smells good. Use it on your towels and sheets., 15 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Yes, I like it and use it frequently.
I reckon it smells fresher than most fabric softeners.
Of course, the question is.. where to put the fabric softner?

Well, I've started doing an extra rinse when necessary -the first with this stuff and the second with softener.

It comes in a big bottle but then they suggest using TWO capfuls for each wash.

Recommended but loses a star for no guidance given regarding combining with softener.

3.0 out of 5 stars Simply a slave iPhone screen or an autonomously useful device?, 15 May 2014
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Specific usage defines whether this is simply an external iPhone readout or an independently useful tool..

With the ANT+ connectivity one can link all sorts of health monitoring devices like Wahoo’s own … … or … to the unit and view continuous feedback without draining your battery (too much).

And with Blootooth LE the ‘computer’ receives Speed/Distance data from one’s iPhone app also without overly straining your battery.

I don’t have any of the ANT+ health monitoring apparatus but can say that using Bluetooth 4.0 (incorporating energy saving BLE aka Bluetooth Smart) my telephone connected immediately.

By simply relaying info from your iPhone, one is still reliant on distance/speed measurements made by the iPhone’s varyingly accurate GPS.

REFLKT+ does have its own onboard thermometer and altitude meter. Although I’m not sure how much use these features are on their own.

The device is surprisingly small in the flesh. And although the display is adequate, it is rather dull and basic looking in comparison to one’s iPhone display.

It fits onto the handlebars with ease and the quick-release clip works well.

I would say that for those wanting to use this with ANT+ health monitoring devices, it could be very useful. In this situation it may be worthy of more stars.

But simply as a basic slave readout screen for one’s iPhone, it’s a rather expensive solution.

Wearing the iPhone on an arm in a waterproof, touch-sensitive case seems like a worthy alternative.

I can therefore only award it 3 stars. –It does the job but just doesn’t really impress.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mine works well; had it a month. UPDATE after 6 months., 8 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
UPDATE: Used this for 6 months now and dropped it several times without damage.
Whichever pocket I keep it in, the count is very consistent -my journey to work is always 1200 steps.

Haven't had to change the batteries and the clock is useful. The best thing of all is that I don't ever have to press any buttons (unless I want to see history), there isn't even an on/off switch as it simply goes to sleep when inactive.

Highly recommended; useful, accurate, reliable and great value. Buy 2 and give one as a gift.

original review:

Yes, the User Guide features text small enough to be written on an ant's borrock.

But once the date/time, pace length and target daily steppage is entered (I suggest 10,000), it looks after itself.

I've found the counting to be accurate when in either trouser ticket pocket or shirt pocket. A belt clip would be nice but the versatility of this particular pedometer means it works however it is carried and does not need to be held on the hip. A lanyard is supplied which has a plastic quick-release clip but I have not tried wearing it around my neck.

Apart from the daily total step count, a bar goes up showing how much of your target you've achieved and the time is displayed. The readout isn't especially big or bold so not suitable for those with poor eyesight perhaps.

The step count is automatically reset at midnight and it is very easy to review your week's progress simply by pressing the MEMO button to flick through your last 7 days' achievements.

The MODE button allows your exertions to be displayed as STEPS, KCALS or MILES. And yes, you can change this to Metric.

Al in all, very good. Much more useful and easier to use than I was expecting.

Recommended. All 5 Stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars > B L A T < Gotcha!, 8 May 2014
Verified Purchase(What is this?)

.. It is a serious hunting weapon and definitely not for children.

It is fully effective in targeting prey against a flat surface with ease. Furthermore, with practice, it can even intercept and neutralise targets mid-air.

Definitely a useful tool to help the responsible adult with the laborious task of keeping the environment clear of winged pests.

I suggest children should be restricted to washing-up, fetching the remote control etc. and should only be charged with The Fly Assassin after they come of age.

Don't just get one, get several. There would be a temptation to take this out to restaurants / bars but I'd be concerned that it may qualify as an Offensive Weapon.

Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! ...Five Stars for sure!
